ABOUT

The CORONA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL is a newly launched online competition for short films initiated as a reaction to the current COVID19 developments. Being aware of the devastating impact of the pandemic, we want to make the best out of our self-isolation-situation and give a creative challenge to film professionals and film enthusiasts, who have already rewatched all their favourite series and movies, read all the books on the shelf and played online games over and over for days. Our Festival might be a good solution to cope with creative stagnation in times of precautionary measures.

Interested filmmakers are encouraged to make a short film up to 5 minutes length of any genre or topic in their current isolation. It might be a one-man-show or a day in the life of your partner, roommate or your beloved cat, or even just a skype call. The creative options are numerous.

The best films will be presented on the Festival website and will compete for the two Festival Awards. Next to the award created by the Serbian artist Boris Bogdanović, the winners will receive a monetary prize provided by . Also both winning films will be picked up for international sales &distribution by our partners interfilm Berlin.

• the GRAND JURY PRIZE / 1500 Euro – determined by the Festival jury and • the AUDIENCE AWARD / 500 Euro– voted online by our viewers.

There are no submission fees or streaming charges. Instead we would like to encourage filmmakers and viewers to donate a small amount to DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS.
