Tennessee REALTORS® Political Action Committee Minutes of the Board of Trustees Meeting June 25, 2014 Conference Call Trustees Present: Janice Carlton, Chair; Hagan Stone, Vice-Chair; Carol Lott, Secretary/Treasurer; Brian Copeland; Jerry Daves; Brian Foster; Mike Gaughan; Bobbi Gillis; Todd Harvey; Diane Hills; Lois Killebrew; Rich Levenson; Mandy Wachtler; Doyle Webb; and Pat Beech, TAR President-Elect Staff: Russ Farrar and Chris Sexton Call to Order Chair Janice Carlton called the RPAC Board of Trustees meeting to order on June 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Roll Call The roll was called and a quorum was determined to be present Adoption of Agenda and Minutes The agenda and minutes were adopted. New Business State Primary Election Recommendations: At instruction of the Chair, staff presented the Board of Trustees recommendations for candidates in the upcoming Primary Election. During discussion, Trustees added a $250.00 contribution to Tommy Crangle in House 27, changed the amount for Bill Beck to $500.00, and added a $250.00 contribution to Stephen Fotopulos. A motion was made, seconded and approved to support the candidates with contributions as amended. Local Requests: Staff presented the following local association requests for candidates: (1) $500 for Randy Fairbanks for Hamilton County Commission, District 1, requested by the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors; (2) $1,000 for Ed Shouse for Knox County Trustee, requested by the Knoxville Area Association of Realtors; (3) Charles Busler for Knox County Commission, District 7, requested by the Knoxville Area Association of Realtors; (4) Ed Brantley for Knox County Commission, District 11, requested by the Knoxville Area Association of Realtors; (5) $500 for Eugene Ray for Bedford County Mayor, requested by the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors; and (6) $150 for Phyllis Corso for Washington County Commission, requested by the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors; (7) $500 for Jake Bynum for Weakley County Mayor, requested by Reelfoot Regional Association of Realtors. Following discussion, a motion was made and seconded to approve the requests as presented while increasing the Bynum contribution to $1,000. The motion carried. Trustees were presented with the following fundraising assistance requests: (1) $501 for the Clarksville Area Association of Realtors for a dues package; (2) $1,000 for the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors for their annual legislative lunch; and (3) $1,800 for the Sumner Association of Realtors for an RPAC fundraising reception.
