Chamber Connections, February 2019 3 Young Professionals Kick Off 2019 with Motivation to Achieve Goals The CDCC hosted a Young Professionals Social on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019. Young profes- sionals aged 21-35 from various industries gathered at the Grotto Pizza in Camden to discuss how to set goals and set themselves up for a successful year in 2019. The event started off with an icebreaker activity in which at- tendees were given the opportu- nity to reflect on 2018 and goals that they had set out to achieve and rocked them! They were also tasked with writing down a short- term goal and long-term goal for this year. They were challenged with jotting down ideas of how to reach these goals and what per- sonal habits may influence achiev- ing these goals. The group actively participated in a group discussion, sharing their accomplishments in 2018. Accomplishments included personal and professional goals. During lunch, guest speaker Evans Armantrading, Owner of CNU Fit, LLC, led the group in a discussion on creating, planning and achieving goals. On Jan. 1, 2019, HealthSouth Rehabilita- tion Hospital of Middletown unveiled its new name and brand as part of its company’s name change and rebranding initiative. The inpa- tient rehabilitation hospital is now known as Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Middletown. Birmingham, Alabama-based HealthSouth Corporation launched its new name and brand on Jan. 1, 2018 and will continue transitioning its 130 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and 273 home health and hospice locations serving 36 states and Puerto Rico through 2019. The rebranding initiative to shift the company to the Encompass Health name was made to bet- ter reflect the company’s nationwide network of hospitals, including locations like Encom- pass Health Middletown. In December 2014, HealthSouth acquired Encompass Home Health & Hospice based in Dallas, Texas. As HealthSouth expanded across 36 states and Puerto Rico, it was de- termined that the HealthSouth name did not properly reflect the company or its future. He also touched on how a de- crease in unemployment leads to a more competitive workforce, and how the Federal Reserve be- gins to worry about inflation in the marketplace when that hap- pens.
