Meir is born with congenital cataracts to deaf parents. He underwent five unsuccessful surgeries that left him with massive scar tissue. He was raised reading Braille until he discovered eye exercises at the age of 16. That helped him to develop vision. From a vision of 1%, his vision is now in the normal range, 70%. Now he can write, read and drive. Despite the great damage from the surgeries and poor development of his visual brain, because of his diligent work on his eyes and on his body with many exercises, at the age of 28, he was able to obtain a California drivers license. Through his own healing journey, developing his vision exercises, Meir discovered that the same principles, by which he gained functional vision, could also be applied to the entire body. Meir learned the fundamental principles of his self-healing method, which he was able to teach to others and apply to all systems of the body and many health conditions.

  • Rick Laubscher: Forty Years of Giving Back to San Francisco, from KRON to Market Street Railway
Oral History Center University of California The Bancroft Library Berkeley, California Rick Laubscher Rick Laubscher: Forty Years of Giving Back to San Francisco, From KRON to Market Street Railway Interviews conducted by Todd Holmes in 2016 Copyright © 2017 by The Regents of the University of California Since 1954 the Oral History Center of the Bancroft Library, formerly the Regional Oral History Office, has been interviewing leading participants in or well-placed witnesses to major events in the development of Northern California, the West, and the nation. Oral History is a method of collecting historical information through tape-recorded interviews between a narrator with firsthand knowledge of historically significant events and a well-informed interviewer, with the goal of preserving substantive additions to the historical record. The tape recording is transcribed, lightly edited for continuity and clarity, and reviewed by the interviewee. The corrected manuscript is bound with photographs and illustrative materials and placed in The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley, and in other research collections for scholarly use. Because it is primary material, oral history is not intended to present the final, verified, or complete narrative of events. It is a spoken account, offered by the interviewee in response to questioning, and as such it is reflective, partisan, deeply involved, and irreplaceable. ********************************* All uses of this manuscript are covered by a legal agreement between The Regents of the University of California and Rick Laubscher dated March 30, 2017 The manuscript is thereby made available for research purposes. All literary rights in the manuscript, including the right to publish, are reserved to The Bancroft Library of the University of California, Berkeley.

  • Suction Dredge Scoping Report-Appendix B-Press Release
DFG News Release Public Scoping Meetings Held to Receive Comments on Suction Dredge Permitting Program November 2, 2009 Contact: Mark Stopher, Environmental Program Manager, 530.225.2275 Jordan Traverso, Deputy Director, Office of Communications, Education and Outreach, 916.654.9937 The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is holding public scoping meetings for input on its suction dredge permitting program. Three meetings will provide an opportunity for the public, interested groups, and local, state and federal agencies to comment on potential issues or concerns with the program. The outcome of the scoping meetings and the public comment period following the scoping meetings will help shape what is studied in the Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (SEIR). A court order requires DFG to conduct an environmental review of the program under the California Environmental Quality Act. DFG is currently prohibited from issuing suction dredge permits under the order issued July 9. In addition, as of August 6, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's signing of SB 670 (Wiggins) places a moratorium on all California instream suction dredge mining or the use of any such equipment in any California river, stream or lake, regardless of whether the operator has an existing permit issued by DFG. The moratorium will remain in effect until DFG completes the environmental review of its permitting program and makes any necessary updates to the existing regulations. The scoping meetings will be held in Fresno, Sacramento and Redding. Members of the public can provide comments in person at any of the following locations and times: Fresno: Monday, Nov. 16, 5 p.m.
