The Natwest Series 2001
The NatWest Series 2001 CONTENTS Saturday23June 2 Match review – Australia v England 6 Regulations, umpires & 2002 fixtures 3&4 Final preview – Australia v Pakistan 7 2000 NatWest Series results & One day Final act of a 5 2001 fixtures, results & averages records thrilling series AUSTRALIA and Pakistan are both in superb form as they prepare to bring the curtain down on an eventful tournament having both won their last group games. Pakistan claimed the honours in the dress rehearsal for the final with a memo- rable victory over the world champions in a dramatic day/night encounter at Trent Bridge on Tuesday. The game lived up to its billing right from the onset as Saeed Anwar and Saleem Elahi tore into the Australia attack. Elahi was in particularly impressive form, blast- ing 79 from 91 balls as Pakistan plundered 290 from their 50 overs. But, never wanting to be outdone, the Australians responded in fine style with Adam Gilchrist attacking the Pakistan bowling with equal relish. The wicketkeep- er sensationally raced to his 20th one-day international half-century in just 29 balls on his way to a quick-fire 70. Once Saqlain Mushtaq had ended his 44-ball knock however, skipper Waqar Younis stepped up to take the game by the scruff of the neck. The pace star is bowling as well as he has done in years as his side come to the end of their tour of England and his figures of six for 59 fully deserved the man of the match award and to take his side to victory. -

Wednesday 9 February 2011 – Meeting The Society is delighted to welcome DEREK BREWER, who has been Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club since June 2005. During his tenure, Notts. have been very successful, winning the Championship in his inaugural months and in 2010. A feature of their cricket has been a judicious mixture of local players and reliable and committed overseas players. Our speaker was a very talented cricketer playing for Berkshire Under 13s, British Universities and Warwickshire 2nd XI. He has also contributed to the game at grass roots level by managing Grantham’s Under-13 team. In the business world, he was formerly Regional Director of Royal Bank of Scotland Commercial Banking in the East Midlands. Wednesday 12 January 2011 – Report Peter Parfitt provided his audience with a rare treat. In his vote of thanks Derek Coulson perceptively commented that, in little more than an hour and with no notes, he had taken his audience through cricket’s history over the past 50 years. Our speaker’s address was full of insight, wisdom and humour, and delivered by a man who clearly cherished cricket’s heritage, history and its traditional values. -

UP STUMPS! 2013 SEASON DIVISION TWO CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION Issue 2 0 UP STUMPS! 2013 Season Division Two Championship Edition WELL DONE CHAPS! 12 STARS FIRST TEAM CELEBRATING THEIR HISTORIC PROMOTION IN THIS ISSUE From the chairman’s desk by ANTONY BRAND I believe that history will prove that 2013 will Mahesh has had a really great year with the be one of the most important years in recent bat, not only for 12Stars, but the Belgium 12Stars history. Firstly this is the first year national team as well. A Wag’s Tale that we've entered a second team in division Apart from the old staggers such as myself 3 of the BCF 45 over league competition. (very old), we've had some newcomers who This has proved to be a resounding success. have made an impact. Prashant, Anshul, The team finished mid table with 3 wins from Midhun, Ashish and Tom Garland have all 10matches including an exciting victory over copped man of the match awards in their Ostend Exiles and Gent Arcadians-2. Despite first year with the club. I would personally winning only 3 of its fixtures the team was like to see longtime members like John competitive in all matches but most Parker, Rob Goodchild, Duncan Lumsden importantly the 2nd team gave ample and Paul Harris come back. They are all opportunity to more players to play really known to be in Belgium and most still pay competitive one day cricket. We've been their annual fees but are not playing. But its bolstered by new members and look forward good to have younger guys like Sean to entering a second team in the league in Fortune, Prabhu and Sarav help reduce the 2014. -
Cricket Memorabilia Society Postal Auction Friday 19
CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION FRIDAY 19th MARCH 2021 Part of Lot 344 CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION CLOSING AT NOON 19th MARCH 2021 Conditions of Postal Sale The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged or unsuitable, or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid no later than 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia for auction on its website no later than 3 weeks prior to the closing date of the auction. Bids will only be accepted from CMS members. Postal bids must be in writing or e-mail by the closing date and time shown above. Generally, no item will be sold below 10% of the lower estimate without reference to the vendor. Thus, an item with a £10-15 estimate can be sold for £9, but not £8, without approval. The incremental scale for the acceptance of bids is as follows: £2 increments up to £20, then £20/22/25/28/30 up to £50, then £5 increments to £100 and £10 increments above that. So, if there are two postal bids at £25 and £30, the item will go to the higher bidder at £28. Should there be two identical bids, the first received will win. Bids submitted between increments will be accepted, thus a £52 bid will not be rounded either up or down. -
