Daniel Huppert is one of the most sought-after German conductors of his generation and has been General Music Director of the Bergische Symphoniker (Germany) since 2019 and Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Zuger Sinfonietta (Switzerland) since 2016.

Daniel Huppert has made a name for himself as a versatile and assured conductor of both the great concert repertoire and as a highly perceptive conductor, highly acclaimed premieres such as Der Rosenkavalier, Salome, Madama Butterfly, Rusalka, La Bohème, La Traviata, Tosca, Otello and Peter Grimes.

As a highly in-demand guest conductor, engagements have taken him to the Komische Oper Berlin, the Opera House, the Staatstheater at Gärtnerplatz Munich and to orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, the Darmstadt State Orchestra, the Magdeburg Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Orchestra Würzburg, and the Austrian Ensemble for New Music.

From 2012-2020 Daniel Huppert was General Music Director and Chief Conductor of the venerable Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin and the Mecklenburgische Staatstheater.

He was the winner of several conducting competitions - including the Witold Lutosławski Competition in Poland, the German Operetta Prize for young conductors of the Leipzig Opera and the Conducting Competition of the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig.

Daniel Huppert studied violoncello, conducting and musicology as well as German language and literature in Saarbrücken and Weimar. He completed his education with postgraduate studies for the Konzertexamen. Daniel Huppert was a scholarship holder of the Conductors' Forum of the German Music Council and began his international career as "Assistant du chef d'orchestre" at the Opéra National de Paris (Bastille).
