City of Liberty Lake 2021 Lodging Tax Grant Application Guidelines 2021 funding requests are now being accepted by the City of Liberty Lake. Tourism Promotion Funding applications may be returned to City of Liberty Lake, 22710 E. Country Vista Drive, Liberty Lake, WA 99019 by 5:00 P.M. on October 8, 2021. What is Hotel-Motel Tax (Lodging Tax)? Funding for this program comes from the City of Liberty Lake Tourism Fund, which receives hotel/motel taxes from lodging establishments inside the city limits. The City collects a 2% tax on the sale or charge made of lodging within the City of Liberty Lake. State Law Defining the Use of Hotel-Motel Tax This funding may be available to applicants if funding requests will be used for tourism marketing and promotion activities or operation of tourism-related facilities. Detailed information about the use of tourism funds is from the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), Chapter 67.28. Important Terms Relating to RCW 67.28 Tourism: Economic activity resulting from tourists, which may include sales of overnight lodging, meals, tours, gifts, or souvenirs. Tourism promotion: Activities and expenditures designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to operations, advertising, publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists; developing strategies to expand tourism; operating tourism promotion agencies; and funding marketing of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists. Tourism-related facility: Real or tangible personal property with a usable life of three or more years, or constructed with volunteer labor, and used to support tourism, performing arts, or to accommodate tourist activities. -

Proclamation No.152 /2006 The Tourism Proclamation Article 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as “the Tourism Proclamation No.152/2006”. Article 2. Definitions, In this Proclamation, unless the context otherwise requires: (1) “hotel” means an establishment or place, which provides to tourists for fee or reward sleeping accommodation with or without food or beverage and which has no less than ten bedrooms; (2) “tourist supplementary accommodation establishment” means a pension, resort, family pension, a motel, a guest house or furnished apartment a holiday village and a village inn which provides accommodation with or without food or beverages for tourists in return for payment. (3)“restaurant and food catering establishments” means restaurants, buffets, snack bars, tearooms, table d’ hôte, fast food facilities and catering services; (4)“tourist boat” means a pleasure boat available for the transport of tourists for fishing as a sport, for water-sports or pleasure generally; (5)“tourist transport provider” means a person engaged in providing transportation to tourists by means of motor vehicles, including rental of cars, railway, marine vessels of 26 meters length and other means of tourist transportation as prescribed by regulations; (6) “tourist” means a person who stays at least one night in Eritrea, in either private or commercial accommodation, but whose stay does not exceed twelve months and whose main purpose of visit is not to work; (7) “tourism” means the business of providing travel, accommodation, hospitality and -

Sep 28 2020 Luxury Boutique Hotels – a growing concept in India Luxury boutique hotels and resorts, a widely prevalent concept globally, is still at a nascent stage in India, with very few brands and properties. The increasing desire for experiential travel, by not only the millennials but across different cohorts often looking for unique and exclusive stays, has led to the growing popularity of this concept in the country. So, what are luxury boutique hotels and resorts? The term has evolved over the years, and while there is no standard definition, a luxury boutique hotel is typically a small property with less than 60 keys with its USP being the customized service and ‘elevated experience’ provided to guests. The differentiated experience is often a result of various factors such as the location, design, architecture or even the specially curated theme or events at the property that provides the guests with a unique story and memory. The luxury boutique segment is expected to become an increasingly preferred choice in the post-COVID era as people rediscover the pleasures of traveling but are still cautious with safety, cleanliness and privacy being their top priorities. ADAM CRUMBLISS, Chief Clerk AN ACT To repeal sections 66.390, 66.500, 67.662, 92.325, 92.327, 92.331, and 144.020, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof ten new sections relating to residential dwelling rentals. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows: Section A. Sections 66.390, 66.500, 67.662, 92.325, 92.327, 92.331, and 144.020, 2 RSMo, are repealed and ten new sections enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 66.390, 3 66.500, 67.180, 67.662, 67.5110, 92.325, 92.327, 92.331, 94.005, and 144.020, to read as 4 follows: 66.390. 1. The governing body of any county of the first class having a charter form of 2 government and having a population of over nine hundred thousand inhabitants may levy a tax 3 not to exceed three percent on the amount of sales or charges for all rooms paid by the transient 4 guests of hotels and motels situated within such county. Such tax should be known as a 5 "Convention and Tourism Tax" and shall be deposited by the county treasurer in what shall be 6 known as the "Convention and Tourism Fund". As used herein, "transient guests" means person 7 or persons who occupy room or rooms in a hotel or motel for thirty-one days or less during any 8 calendar quarter. 9 2. -
