COLONEL JAMES V. HEWITT

Colonel James V. Hewitt is the Commander, 318th Cyberspace Operations Group, 67th Cyberspace Wing, -Lackland, . In this capacity, he leads more than 800 professionals across five total force squadrons and three detachments in the conduct of cyber warfare and Information Operations training, operational testing, weapons and tactics development, exercise planning, cyber range development, and cyberspace capabilities integration into Air Force Warfare Center exercises for Air Force and joint warfighters. Prior to this assignment, he served as a National Security Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Colonel Hewitt was born in San Jose, California. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1992 as an Information Manager. He received his commission through Officer Training School upon graduation from Colorado Christian University in 1998. He is a career communications/ cyber professional who has commanded at the squadron, detachment, and flight levels and has participated in contingency operations in Southwest Asia and Europe.
