GIRLS open gyms will begin on Monday, April 29th from 3:00-5:00 in the South Gym. Girls 8th – 11th grade are welcome to participate.

STUDENTS there will be NO Boys’ Basketball Open Gym this week. Open gym will resume Monday May 29th from 7-8:30 in the HS gym.

ALL BOYS BETWEEN 15 AND 18 YEARS OLD that want to play Legion or Colt Baseball should plan to attend a meeting this Sunday, April 28th, 6:00 p.m. at Purkey Field. The meeting will be followed by a workout for those that not playing for a school team. Tryouts for Colt and Legion will be Saturday, May 4, 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM and Sunday, May 5 (time TBA) Registration is still open.

PROM INFORMATION ATTENTION SENIORS! Prom tickets will be on sale from April 22-May 3, 2013. Price of the tickets is $65.00 per person.

PARKING INFORMATION

PARKING PERMITS will be available for Bladerunners at the cost of $25.00. The students on the waiting list have first opportunities to purchase their parking permits. Parking permits may be purchased in the Activities Office. To order your parking permit, go to the district website www.bpsd.org under Student Parking. Payment is to be made by “check only” to Bethel Park Activities Fund.

CLUB NEWS

JUNIORS who ordered candles can pick them up Friday in the activities office during all lunches and afterschool.

NHS – BATTLE OF THE BANDS Saturday May 4th from 7:00 – 10:30 PM in the Bethel Park Cafeteria – Tickets are on sale now for the Battle of the Bands during lunch periods and in the Activities Office. Ticket price is $5.00 and $8.00 at the door the evening of the event.

HABITAT GAMES Students the Habitat games are back! Games start May 1, 2013 and the winning team will receive a $100.00 gift card of their choice. All other proceeds will benefit the Falcone and Parker Families. Packets for registration in groups of two are available in the Activities Office. The cost per player is $10.00.

STUDENTS whose work has been selected for inclusion into the magazine for this year will be receiving letters in homeroom this week. Please return the edited work and provide your approval as soon as possible. See Ms. Totty in room 218 with questions or concerns.

COUNSELING INFORMATION

THE BETHEL PARK WOMEN’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP is now available in the Guidance Office. This is a $3000 award to a member of the senior class who is a resident of BP, has been accepted to an accredited school, demonstrates financial need and shows scholastic ability. Applications must be returned to the Guidance Office by May 5, 2013. SENIORS: THE JOHN DEANS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION is available for all students enrolled in the Special Education Program. Please see Mr. Knapp in the Guidance Office for the application.

THE PACS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS are now available in the Guidance Office. Senior students that are PACS members are eligible to apply. Four $500.00 scholarships will be awarded.

SENIORS… Don’t forget to sign up in the Guidance office for next week’s CCAC visit with Mike Rose. If you are still unsure of your future educational options, then come see Mr. Rose and what he has to offer.

APPRENTICESHIPS FOR 2013-14 are in. Look for the Hot Pink Sheet posted on the Bulletin Boards in the Cafeteria and Guidance Office. Applications are on line @ http://apprenticeships.aiu3.net. The deadline to apply is May 24th.

SENIOR CLASS – Don’t forget about your Senior Projects! If you have already completed your project, you must have the paperwork signed by the teacher and returned to the Guidance Office. This is a requirement for graduation! All projects must be completed in the approved course stated in the Curriculum Handbook.
