Enkindle Your love in me and then walk with me along the next stretch of road before me." — St. Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) You Have Questions; We Have Answers Many of you may have watched or read the WCPO investigative series on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s responses to clerical sex abuse in and around Cincinnati. While the story is based on a few facts, it, like all stories has at least two sides and, like all stories about Catholic sex abuse, only one side is shown and that with hyperbole. We think most of us should be able to see how Channel 9 has spun the basic facts into speculation beyond real truth and ignored many facts. The Archdiocese has posted these points on its website:  There are no archdiocesan priests in active ministry who have had a substantiated allegation of sexual abuse of a minor.  The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is committed to doing everything possible to eliminate this horrific evil from our parishes and schools. Please report any suspected abuse on the part of any agent of the archdiocese to the appropriate civil authorities, as well as to the Coordinator of Ministry to Survivors of Abuse in the archdiocese by calling 513.263.6623.  All employees of the archdiocese, including priests, are background checked and must stay current on Virtus.  For more than a decade the archdiocese has posted on its website the names of those priests removed from ministry due to substantiated allegations of sexual abuse of a minor.  The archdiocese has also posted the names of religious order priests who have ministered in the archdiocese who have been identified by their respective communities as having been removed from ministry for reasons of abuse. You may read further updates from the Archdiocese on their Communications page at http://www.catholiccincinnati.org/ministries-offices/communication-office/.

The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, formerly referred to as "Christ the King," was established by Pope Pius XI in 1925 as an antidote to secularism, a way of life which leaves God out of man's thinking and living and organizes his life as if God did not exist. The feast is intended to proclaim in a striking and effective manner Christ's royalty over individuals, families, society, governments, and nations. Today's Mass establishes the titles for Christ's royalty over men: 1) Christ is God, the Creator of the universe and hence wields a supreme power over all things; "All things were created by Him"; 2) Christ is our Redeemer, He purchased us by His precious Blood, and made us His property and possession; 3) Christ is Head of the Church, "holding in all things the primacy"; 4) God bestowed upon Christ the nations of the world as His special possession and dominion.
