Club Officer Position Details Department: Positions Reporting to this Position: Community Cricket Casual team members Reports to: Area Manager or Cricket Manager

Primary Purpose of the Position

To support the development and growth and clubs to help them thrive. To provide practical assistance to clubs to set strong foundations and infrastructure to create exceptional experiences.

Organisation Environment

Cricket NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of cricket throughout New South Wales.

The vision for Cricket NSW is To Ignite Australia’s Favourite ’s Biggest State. To achieve this vision, Cricket NSW has a number of short-term targets and long-term aspirations. In the short-term the plan highlights the following strategic imperatives for cricket in New South Wales: • Continue to produce the most Australian, first-class and BBL players • Firmly establish the and the as a team to rival the biggest NRL clubs in popularity • Grow participation significantly in partnership with the many cricket-friendly people of NSW • Provide strong leadership to NSW and Australian cricket in a time of change • Secure significant additional investment in cricket in NSW.

In the longer term, Cricket NSW aspires to be number 1 in the country for production of Australian players, attendance, fan passion, team success, participation and investment in the game.

The strategy for Cricket NSW has three pillars that are critical to achieve the vision to Ignite Australia’s Favourite Sport in Australia’s Biggest State: • No. 1 for fans – make the WBBL as big as the BBL and make the BBL even bigger. Enhance the prestige of the Blues, Breakers & Cricket NSW • No. 1 for participation – lead junior cricket and align it with national formats and W/BBL brands • No. 1 in all formats – win titles and produce the best players, umpires and coaches in the world.

Department Environment

The Community Cricket Department purpose is to lead and serve the community. It is responsible for growing cricket participation and inspiring the next generation of players and fans. The department is charged with the challenging task of igniting and maintaining a lifelong connection with cricket by recognising the diverse needs of participants and subsequently developing formats and pathways to meet such diversity.

Community Cricket is focused particularly on driving passion amongst primary-aged children with the purpose of achieving the Associations strategic goals of maximising both interest and participation in cricket in NSW.

Club Officer 2 Position Description

Key Responsibilities

▪ Providing practical assistance to local clubs and associations to creating thriving clubs and strong competitions ▪ Working with local clubs and associations to identify and resolve logistical and other issues i that may impact their effective operation ▪ Working closely with participation officers and cricket managers to support school to club transition ▪ Promoting Cricket Blast entry level programs and other preferred program formats for clubs ▪ Ensuring club volunteers and paid program deliverers have the skills and knowledge to provide a quality experience ▪ Facilitating and assisting clubs and volunteers with training and development in order to achieving appropriate accreditations ▪ Facilitating effective delivery of Sport for All training to clubs and associations ▪ Ensuring compliance with sponsorship related contractual obligations

Child Protection

It is your duty to comply with Australian Cricket’s Looking After Our Kids for Australian Cricket Personnel and Australian Cricket’s Commitment Statement to Safeguarding Children and Young People, designed to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people involved in the sport of cricket. As part of your duty, you must recognise that children and young people require special care and attention in order to feel safe and you will be committed to protecting and prioritising the safety of children and young people involved in Cricket NSW’s programs and services

Governance

It is your duty to comply with Cricket NSW policies and procedures which set out governance standards and manage risks for our organisation. You are responsible for being aware of and complying with the policies and procedures.

Duties under Work Health and Safety Requirements
