Of equal significance is the fact that in the post modern era when the developed world is highly concerned about environmental issues and the concept of Urban Forestry is gaining popularity, our backward stance in this regard is especially alarming. The present work being a pioneering academic effort in this field in Pakistan is meant to focus on the urgent environmental issue hence will facilitate planners, politicians and environmentalists by providing information of the contrast between postmodern values and existing conditions in areas of Third World countries.
