“In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 180 of the Constitution of India, I, BANWARILAL PUROHIT, Governor of Tamil Nadu, hereby appoint Thiru. K. Pitchandi, being a Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly to perform the duties of the Speaker from the commencement of the first meeting of the Assembly until the Speaker shall have been chosen by the Assembly under Article 178 of the Constitution.
