Dr. Arnold G. Parks is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. He served as a member of the Friends of the Missouri State Archives Board for several years. Dr. Parks is also an author (see Related Collections below).

Scope and Content

Historic postcards of Jefferson City, county and state government buildings, commercial enterprises, educational institutions, street scenes and special events. There are approximately 150 distinct images. Many postcards are still under copyright. Series also includes at least one photograph (1870s) and a paper invitation.

All images, fronts and backs, are on the Z Drive as 300dpi TIFs.

The fronts of about 2/3 of the postcards are also on Missouri Digital Heritage in the Historic Postcards of Jefferson City collection online here: http://cdm16795.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/landingpage/collection/postjc. If you come & can't locate our place phone 851X and maybe we can direct or meet you. The place I work at is the Missouri Power & Light. It is on the left hand side of the picture as you look at the picture we live one block further up the street and then 2 blocks to your right. Turn right again and 1/2 block back west on the right hand side. This is main street and the hiway runs parallel to it and just one block south of main street."
