All of the sound cards mentioned above feature the Intel High Definition Audio (Intel HD Audio) Front Panel header.

This header follows the standard 2x5pin Intel HD Audio conform layout. It is not compatible with AC97 or Intel- compatible HD Front Panel Audio, as their pins are assigned differently.

If this connector is unknowingly connected to an AC'97 or compatible connector with an AC'97 cable, it can have unintended consequences. For example, plugging a pair of headphones into the headphone jack may not mute the speakers as expected.
