We have won against the German team, the Indonesian team and Japanese team scoring 3-0, 3-1, 3-0. All 10 games are between the world’s top badminton contest athletes, which can best reflect the current overall level of world badminton Sports. Through video observation, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis and literature research methods, this essay analyzes both the score and error during the Su Cup mixed race in order to identify a number of key factors in winning the race for China to provide theoretical basis to maintain a high level in badminton games. Research Object and Method The subjects are all 10 games after the knockout round in 2015 14th Sudirman Cup badminton games. Research methods are Video observation research method [1], mathematical statistics, comparative analysis and documentation. Document [1] describes the full competition rules for badminton games; According to the placement of the ball, badminton scoring can be divided into the following types of cases: (1) bats and the ball falls in the other venue; (2) the opponent return the ball out of bounds; (3) opponents return ball into the net; (4) injured during the game abandoned the race. Wherein (1) according to changes in the effective hitting batting subdivided into [2] smash, lob, put the ball rub, lofty ball, push the ball, pumping gear, hook right corner, pick ball. During the race, the player should choose the appropriate way to get the initiative according to the opponents’ features combining with their own advantages. In the case of good quality ball the player can more likely cause his opponents to produce turnovers and get the situation (2) (3) score. Badminton is an exercise-consuming sport. During the race, athletes sometimes need to make some vulnerable scrambling action, such as flutter, jerks, step and so on. Badminton is a comprehensive physical contest on stamina skill, psychology. There are different emphases in mixed doubles, men’s singles competition, men’s doubles competition, the women’s singles competition and the women’s doubles competition. 10 Chinese badminton team’s games would be discussed herein this essay, while fully affirming our team winning the 6th Su Cup the same time, we would give an objective evaluation and the final conclusions on the competitive level of our badminton team. Results and Analyses Single Competition Chinese team took part in five singles matches after 2015 Su Cup badminton tournament 1/8 finals, in which there are three games of men’s singles and two games of women’s singles. Table 1 shows the numbers of contestants’ appearances. Tables 2 and 3 show the statistical results of initiative scores and initiative loses during the games. Men’s singles quarter-final is between Chen Long from China and Jonathan from Indonesia. From the active scoring competition results in Table 2, Chen Long and Jonathan equal in offensive capability. The two sides are both comprehensive technical players; scored only 1 point in smashing up, which indicating both sides take good control in return ball quality. Chen Long scores 2 more points in backcourt kill and 2 more points in flapping, while Jonathan got 2 more points in near-net ball. Both sides vary little and their overall score is 11 to 9. The two sides in terms of losing the initiative reflect a larger gap. Chen Long initiative loss was 15 points less than his opponent, which is about half of his opponent’s initiative loss. Chen Long has a strong initiative in scoring, moves fast, has more comprehensive techniques [5]. Although his characteristics were not shown in initiative scoring, he succeeded in forcing his opponent to commit more errors and semi-coercive force turnovers. Lin Dan mainly scores in killing the ball in the frontcourt and backcourt. 14 out of 20 initiative scores are taken from backcourt killing, which accounts for 70%. In contrast, his opponent Ueda Takuma’s way in taking initiative scorers are more balanced. Lin Dan active scores 5 points more than his opponent. However, it can be seen in Table 2, Lin Dan in this game makes full use of his advantages by killing the ball, lofty ball oppressing his opponent to take defensive state which cause him to hit the ball into the net or out of bounds. Lin Dan scrambled by paving the way to reverse the situation to score Several times through his active defense. Ueda Takuma’s lost points mainly due to forced errors [3, 4, 6]. Overall, Lin Dan active lost 9 points less than the opponent, which are mainly unforced errors and semi-coercive mistakes. Unforced errors including three boundaries ball misjudgments and a tee shot. Lin’s other lost are net-balls or out of bounds (including the edges and the bottom line) during the transition between attacking and defending under the balanced state. Different from finals the men’s singles 1/8 finals, killing the ball is the main means of active score, Lin Dan’s initiative scores are more balanced. During the race, Lin Dan has reservations, and did not take more physical exertion to kills. In terms of losing the initiative, Lin Dan has very little stress errors. When the game just begins, the Germany player’s good state with focused attention caused some pressure on Lin Dan and made him commit some semi-coercive mistakes. China sent Li Xuerui play the two singles matches. Women’s singles quarter-final match Li Xuerui plays against Manu Buti from Indonesia and Manu Buti scores ahead in the beginning. Dramatically, Manu Buti got injured accidentally during the race and could not finish the race, which gave Li Xuerui the chance to win. Li’s women’s singles final opponent is Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi. Li’s second game is very tough for her and she won finally in the playoff. In active score, Li got 17 points, only 1 more than her opponent. Akane Yamaguchi’s physical fitness is better and she could still play backcourt kills after the game with good quality. On the other side, Li won 3-points-advantage through net smash, hook right corner and near-net ball. Li also plays better in lessing the active lost points. Relying on her skillful techniques, Li forces her opponent to commit turnovers and semi-coercive coercive mistakes repeatedly, resulting in more of the ball out of bounds and into the net error. The average age for male players and the female players are 29 years old and 24 years old. The average age of the men’s competitive age compared with year2011, rising a full four years, and 1 year of age for women. Table 1. Time of appearances for single players. Lin Chen Li Xuerui Dan Long Time of 2 1 2 appearances Double Games The Chinese team participated in 5 double games after the 1/8 final in this Su Cup final series, including 1 mixed double, 3 men’s double and 1 women’s double. The players’ numbers of appearances are shown in table 4. Fu Haifeng and Zhang Nan play more than other players. Zhang Nan played in the mixed doubles and the men’s doubles match 1 time each, and Fu Haifeng participate all 3 doubles matches. Cai yun, Zhao Yunlei, Yu Yang and Tang Yuanting joined in one game each. In men’s doubles 1/8 final Fu Haifeng and Zhang Nan from China play against Mike Fox and Peter Kasibaer from Germany. According to the personal condition and rankings, Chinese players have much advantage, and China won 2:0 over Germany; their victory is like respected. To be mentioned is that the Chinese players misjudged 2 boundary balls and commit several faults in net ball. The points gap between two sides is 10, which is not so evident. Table 2. • Olympic Badminton Teams Disqualified
Olympic Badminton Teams Disqualified By Ryan Yuen August 3rd, 2012 Four female badminton pairs, the top seeds from China, one from Indonesia and two from South Korea, have been ejected from the Olympics for trying to lose matches on Tuesday. They were kicked out of the tournament the next day and have been charged with “not using one's best efforts to win a match and conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport,” by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The players were accused of “not doing their best to win a match and abusing or demeaning the sport” by the BWF so that they could play less challenging opponents in future matches. Their continuous serves to the net and returns out of bounds made it apparent that all four pairs were not trying their best. Spectators replied with boos and downward pointing thumbs, expressing their anger towards the players for their awful performance and sportsmanship. All the players had been Qualified for the Quarterfinals before the matches on Tuesday, not giving them many benefits of winning and making the more favorable choice to seem like losing. China lost the match to South Korea 21-14, 21-11, proving themselves to be the better losers and successfully getting into the less challenging side of the draw to avoid playing China’s number two seeded pair. The Chinese doubles pair gave their apologies for their actions after their disqualification. "I think firstly we should apologize to the Chinese audience, because we did not demonstrate the Olympic spirit.

  • History of Badminton
Facts and Records History of Badminton In 1873, the Duke of Beaufort held a lawn party at his country house in the village of Badminton, Gloucestershire. A game of Poona was played on that day and became popular among British society’s elite. The new party sport became known as “the Badminton game”. In 1877, the Bath Badminton Club was formed and developed the first official set of rules. The Badminton Association was formed at a meeting in Southsea on 13th September 1893. It was the first National Association in the world and framed the rules for the Association and for the game. The popularity of the sport increased rapidly with 300 clubs being introduced by the 1920’s. Rising to 9,000 shortly after World War Π. The International Badminton Federation (IBF) was formed in 1934 with nine founding members: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Denmark, Holland, Canada, New Zealand and France and as a consequence the Badminton Association became the Badminton Association of England. From nine founding members, the IBF, now called the Badminton World Federation (BWF), has over 160 member countries. The future of Badminton looks bright. Badminton was officially granted Olympic status in the 1992 Barcelona Games. Indonesia was the dominant force in that first Olympic tournament, winning two golds, a silver and a bronze; the country’s first Olympic medals in its history. More than 1.1 billion people watched the 1992 Olympic Badminton competition on television. Eight years later, and more than a century after introducing Badminton to the world, Britain claimed their first medal in the Olympics when Simon Archer and Jo Goode achieved Mixed Doubles Bronze in Sydney.

Submitted 04 April 2021; Accepted in final form 28 June 2021. ABSTRACT Background. This study aims to analyze the movement of backhand and forehand smash stroke techniques in badminton in three dimensions using a kinematics approach. Objectives. The obtained results were analyzed using a descriptive and quantitative approach. Methods. Furthermore, 24 male badminton players from the university student activity unit with an average age of 19.4 ± 1.6 years, height of 1.73 ± 0.12 m, and weight of 62.8 ± 3.7 kg participated in this study. The study was conducted using 3 Panasonic Handycams, a calibration set, 3D Frame DIAZ IV motion analysis software, and a speed radar gun. Results. The data normalization from the kinematics values of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joint motion was calculated using the inverse dynamics method. In addition, a one-way ANOVA test was used to identify differences in the kinematics of motion between two different groups. The obtained results showed that the speed of the shuttlecock during the forehand smash was greater than that during the backhand smash. In the maximal shoulder external rotation phase, two variables were identified to have the best results during the forehand smash, i.e., the velocity of shoulder external rotation and wrist palmar flexion.
