Emergency Medicine Practice Opportunities Join Northeastern Ontario’s health care leader

Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord (HSN) is recruiting health care professionals who have a keen interest in effecting change within its dynamic health care system. As the tertiary care referral centre for the entire Northeastern Ontario region, HSN serves a catchment population of over 600,000 residents.

The Department at HSN is seeking full-time emergency physicians. With nearly 65,000 high acuity visits per year, our ED is amongst the busiest in Ontario. All levels of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) learn from our dedicated faculty; our CCFP(EM) residency is one of the largest in the country. The land and air EMS system for Northeastern Ontario is based in Sudbury. Our ED is nationally recognized as a centre of excellence in teaching and performing bedside ED Echo (EDE).

HSN invites inquiries from CCFP(EM), FRCP(EM) certified or practice eligible candidates. We offer an attractive Alternate Funding Plan (AFP) as well as provincial incentives.

All physicians are required to seek academic appointment at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), and become in- volved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Research opportunities are also available with HSN’s affiliated re- search institute, HSNRI.
