Bell Biv Devoe, Swv & Jon B the Ultimate R&B Event! Friday, November 18 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 31, 2011 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS BELL BIV DEVOE, SWV & JON B THE ULTIMATE R&B EVENT! FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18 Richmond, BC – Bell Biv DeVoe was formed in the minds of its members, New Edition’s Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe upon the departure of lead singer, Bobby Brown in 1986. But it wasn’t until 1988 that they released their first album, Poison. The album featured the title track – peaking at #1 on the Billboard R&B charts and reaching #3 on the Billboard Pop charts – along with “Do Me!”, “B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)?”, “When Will I See You Smile Again?” and “Dope!” The album went on to sell over three million copies and was followed by a remix album the next year. With their 1992 debut album, It’s About Time, SWV scored a string of Top Ten hits that established them as one of the most popular R&B groups of the 90’s. SWV – an acronym for Sisters with Voices – is comprised of three school friends: Coko, Taj and Lelee. Their hits include “I’m So Into You”, “Weak”, “Right Here/Human Nature”, “Always On My Mind” and “Anything”. Singer-songwriter Jon B brings a distinctive focus on smooth melodies to contemporary R&B. Proficient on keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, he’s written songs for such rap music legends as Toni Braxton, After 7 and Color Me Badd. Influenced by music found in his grandparents’ record store, he began combining 70’s soul with 90’s hip-hop on his 1995 debut album, Bonafide. The album sold more than one million copies and went gold. His second album, Cool Relax was released two years later and continued the emphasis on classic hip-hop soul. Don’t miss the ultimate R&B event when Bell Biv Devoe, SWV and Jon B perform all their hits at the River Rock Casino Resort on November 18, 2011. BELL BIV DEVOE POISON SIDE A: Dope! B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)? Let Me Know Something!? Do Me! Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph And Johnny (Word To Mutha)! SIDE B: Poison Ain’t Nut’in Changed! When Will I See You Again? I Do Need You In 1988 KRS One made the poignant declaration of never trusting a “big butt and a smile” on Boogie Down Productions song “Jimmy”. Truer words have never been spoken. Fast forward 2 years later, Bell Biv DeVoe are smashing the charts (Urban to Pop) with their debut single “Poison”, and in taking KRS’s words of wisdom the exact phrase - “never trusting a big butt and a smile” has a major part of the chorus. The world over was singing it. Where once Hip Hop was borrowing from R&B, here the tables were turned, and for good reason : Bell Biv DeVoe weren’t making your typical New Jack Swing of the day, the music sounded closer to a Public Enemy or Ice Cube album. This wasn’t your parent’s R&B. With help from Public Enemy producers Eric Sadler, Hank and Keith Shocklee, and several others, Bell Biv Devoe had crafted their debut album Poison which went number 1 on Billboard's R&B/HipHop chart. Poison also spawned other significant hits which include the title track, “Do Me”, "B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)?" "When Will I See You Smile Again?" and "She's Dope”. The success this album had on R&B and Pop Culture was unimaginable.

Jan 28th 2013 For Immediate release ‘The Trevor Nelson Collection’ takes No.1 spot! ‘The Trevor Nelson Collection’, the new compilation album from award winning DJ Trevor Nelson, released on Jan 14th this year, has reached number one on the UK Compilation Chart knocking the mighty ‘Now That’s What I Call Music 83’ off the top spot. Arguably the most trusted voice for the UK’s fans of R&B, Nelson is the only DJ in the country to have shows across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and Radio 2. Having carefully curated this overview of three decades of R&B club classics into 3CDs of hits, Nelson brings together some of his favorite current and legendary artists, from the late ‘70s through to the present day. “It was a lot of fun putting together a collection of some of the R&B highlights of the last 30 years. There’s a lot to choose from but hopefully there’s a few defining moments here for fans to enjoy, all in one place!” ‘The Trevor Nelson Collection’ features a plethora of Top 10 hits that perfectly encapsulate everything R&B, from major artists including R. Kelly, En Vogue, Toni Braxton, Donell Jones and Usher. These artists sit next to established megastars such as Luther Vandross and the legend that is Michael Jackson; who aptly opens the set with the incredible ‘Rock With You’. From the ‘80s there is Soul II Soul, Cameo, and Alexander O’Neal with ‘Criticize’, continuing with massive cross-over hits from the ‘90s courtesy of Blackstreet, Montell Jordan, Aaliyah, Mary J.
