In this specific natural environment, the abundance or the lack of various natural resources has influenced society since the pre-Columbian era. The limited size of the islands and the growth of their economy demand a clear assessment of both the natural geoheritage and the historical heritage. This paper presents a brief review of the variety of the natural stone architectural heritage of the F.W.I. and of the available geomaterials. Some conservation issues and threats are evidenced, with particular emphasis on Guadeloupe. Some social practices are also evoked, with the long-term goal of studying the reciprocal influence of local geology and society on conservation aspects. Finally, this paper argues that unawareness is one of the main obstacles for the conservation of the geoheritage and the natural stone architectural heritage in the F.W.I. Le plus grand ouvrage retranché s’appelait Fort Saint- Pierre, non loin de l’actuel Deshaies : là résidait Charles de l’Olive. -

Cyclones produce some harm by terrific wind speed, abnormal precipitations and sea action. Historically, storm surge inundation has been the most destructive. Damage caused in Sainte-Anne (Guadeloupe) by hurricane Hugo, 1989 First International Caribbean Waves: Risk Evaluation of Natural Hazards in the Caribbean, Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe, 9 – 10 December 2008 Introduction Recently, (Zahibo et al., 2007) has studied the cyclone activity in Guadeloupe for 1635–2000, and evaluated the return period of cyclones: TC=⋅0.67 exp( 0.60 ⋅) where C is category, and T is measured in years. In average, the cyclone, which can be categorized, occurred almost each year. Cyclone with category more than 1 occurs Return period versus cyclone categories (Zahibo et al., 2007) each 2.3. E Parmi eux figurent 154 140 résidences principales. Entre 2002 et 2008, les aides de l’État (via le dispo- sitif de la Ligne Budgétaire Unique), confortées par celles de la Région et du Département, ont permis de financer la réalisation, l’amélioration ou la rénovation de près de 18 000 logements. La qualité et le confort des logements guadeloupéens se sont améliorés. En l’espace de quinze ans, sur la période 1990-2006, le confort des résidences principales a fortement progressé. Désormais, la quasi-totalité dispose de l’eau et de l’électricité et 97 % d’entre elles sont équipées d’une douche ou baignoire et de WC intérieurs contre respectivement 75 % et 80 % quinze ans auparavant. -
La Région Rencontre Les 13 Communes Concernées Par La Montée En Débit Des Sous-Répartiteurs Dans Le Cadre Du Déploiement Du Très Haut Débit
La Région rencontre les 13 communes concernées par la montée en débit des sous-répartiteurs dans le cadre du déploiement du très haut débit Basse-Terre, le 14 octobre 2015– La Région Guadeloupe a engagé aux côtés de l’Etat, une démarche visant à définir une stratégie régionale et un schéma directeur d’aménagement numérique de Guadeloupe. Cette initiative s’inscrit dans le programme national de couverture en Très Haut Débit du territoire national. Ainsi, la collectivité régionale porte le schéma directeur d’aménagement numérique qui définit les besoins, à moyen terme, du territoire en très haut débit. Plusieurs actions ont ainsi été programmées sur la période 2015-2017, première phase du projet porté par la Région : le déploiement des câbles sous-marins pour la desserte des îles du Sud, le déploiement de la fibre optique sur 8 communes, la mise en œuvre d’une opération de montée en débit de 72 sous- répartiteurs en 3 temps. Depuis mars 2015, la Région a lancé la première étape de montée en débit de sous-répartiteurs sur le territoire. Cette opération concerne cinq communes dites rurales : Baillif, Vieux-Habitants, Bouillante, Pointe Noire et Petit Canal. 5476 prises téléphoniques sont visées, les travaux devraient s’achever en fin d’année pour une mise en service à partir de fin janvier 2016. La seconde étape de montée en débit des sous-répartiteurs sera présentée aux maires des 13 communes concernées soit 43 sous-répartiteurs le jeudi 15 octobre 2015 À 16heures Hôtel de Région STRATEGIE NUMERIQUE : LE TRES HAUT DEBIT La Région Guadeloupe s’investit pour le développement des Technologies de l’information et de la Communication sur son territoire. -
