Ecosystem Science & Natural Resources Management Services WSP Environment & Energy Date Date i C.7-2 Chevron Tank Farm EIR Appendix C: Biological Resources Executive Summary One hundred fifty-two (152) vascular plant species have been identified within the property boundaries of the San Luis Obispo Tank Farm. This listing combines previous field surveys as well as the 2008 surveys by the Padre/WSP project team. Forty-nine percent (49%; 74 taxa) of the vascular plant species are native taxa, while 51% (78 taxa) are non-native (primarily naturalized) species commonly represented in the California flora. The percentage of non-native taxa on the San Luis Obispo Tank Farm is more than twice that calculated for the State as a whole, reflecting a relatively high level of site disturbance associated with past oil operations, maintenance, and abandonment, and past and continued cattle grazing. Seven species are of concern to the conservation community.
