Robin des Bois CITES COP18 – Geneva The 18th Plenary Conference of States Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) met in Geneva from 17-28 August 2019. 168 governments, 1700 delegates, observers and journalists participated in it. Robin des Bois, which has been a CITES observer for the past 30 years, was represented by Charlotte Nithart and Emilie Courtin. The work of Robin des Bois and its bulletin “On the Trail” were referenced in the proposals concerning Tokay geckos, Indian star turtles and tarantulas, and Robin des Bois’s observers made a presentation on sea cucumbers, before the examination of the proposal to include three species in Appendix II, with Arnaud Horellou and Marie Di Simone of the French Natural History Museum, Daniel Fernando of the Sri Lanka delegation and Rosemarie Gnam, scientific authority of the United States of America. The 19th Conference of the Parties will be held in Costa Rica in 2022.
