Since our launch in 1981, there has been proliferation of platforms, channels and catch-up services. In recent years, more people have started to watch television and video content distributed through the internet. Project Dovetail is at the heart of our development strategy. Its premise is that BARB’s services need to harness the strengths of two complementary data sources. - BARB’s panel of 5,100 homes provides representative viewing information that delivers programme reach, demographic viewing profiles and measurement of viewers per screen. - Device-based data from web servers provides granular evidence of how online TV is being watched. The TV Player Report is the first stage of Project Dovetail. -

Comic Relief: Multi-Cloud, Multi-Foundation, 400 Real-Time Donations Per Second, Zero Downtime, 100% Success
Comic Relief: Multi-cloud, multi-foundation, 400 real-time donations per second, zero downtime, 100% success Over the past 30 years, Comic Relief [http://www.comicrelief.com/] has raised over £1 billion for good causes around the world and in the UK. Through their two campaigns Red Nose Day [www.rednoseday.com] and Sport Relief [http://www.sportrelief.com/], they used the money donated by the great British public to make their vision a reality: a just world, free from poverty. Founded in 1985 by comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry in response to famine in Ethiopia, every year Comic Relief has grown in size and influence. In its first telethon in 1998 it raised £76,610. In 2015, it raised £99,418,831. Every two years, Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day takes over primetime Friday night BBC TV for seven hours. The telethon is responsible for the majority of Comic Relief’s annual fundraising, attracting a large audience who donate money via the website or a network of 14,000 call centre operators across 120 call centres who donate their time for free. “With an increasing number of donations to Comic Relief being taken online, it is critical we have 100% confidence in our donations platform. Armakuni provides us with that confidence.” Derek Gannon, COO, Comic Relief The old donations platform The directors appreciated that the existing platform was nearing its end of life and a new platform was needed - when such a large percentage of your annual money is made in about 7 hours, you really want to know the thing is not going to fail. -

Archived BBC public responses to complaints 2014 The One Show, BBC One, 14 January 2014 Complaint We have received complaints about Paul O'Grady's appearance on the One Show on 14 January. Some viewers felt that his views on benefit reform were not adequately challenged. BBC's Response The One Show is a topical magazine programme which occasionally reports on prominent news stories. Following media coverage of the debate around Channel Four's Benefits Street, The One Show asked members of the public for their views on the programme. A variety of opinions were heard from all sides of the debate. Following this, and in keeping with One Show tradition, the presenters discussed the issues raised with that day's studio guest, Paul O'Grady. Paul was clearly identified as a Labour supporter, and he was challenged on how he would reduce the benefits bill. Paul's views were forthright, and on reflection more could have been done to put them into context, but it is important to note that balance can be achieved across a number of programmes, and this is a subject that the One Show has covered before and hopes to revisit again in the future. EastEnders, BBC One, 14 January 2014 Complaint We received complaints from some viewers who were unhappy with a comment made by Shabnam during EastEnders on 14 January 2014. The BBC's response EastEnders has a rich history of tackling social issues. The show does not advocate racism or intolerance in any way; in fact it seeks to challenge these negative views. -

Social Justice Practices for Educational Theatre
VOLUME 7 ISSUE 2b | 2020 SOCIAL JUSTICE PRACTICES FOR EDUCATIONAL THEATRE ARTSPRAXIS Emphasizing critical analysis of the arts in society. ISSN: 1552-5236 EDITOR Jonathan P. This call for papers was released in concert with the publication of ArtsPraxis Volume 7, Issue 1 and upon the launch of the new ArtsPraxis homepage. The submission deadline for Volume 7, Issue 2b was July 15, 2020. Submissions fell under the category of Social Justice Practices for Educational Theatre. Social Justice Practices for Educational Theatre As of early June, 2020, we found ourselves about ten days into international protests following the murder of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Protesters the world over made specific calls to action: acknowledge that black lives matter, educate yourself about social and racial injustice, and change the legal system that allows these heinous acts to go unpunished. In thinking through how we in the field of educational theatre could proactively address these needs, I reminded myself that there were many artists and educators who were already deeply engaged in this work.
