    2018 Series Regulations for the Historic Touring Car Challenge Supported by The Historic Touring Car Challenge is a series of invitation races for Touring Cars that competed during the period 1966 to 1990 inclusive. Specific requirements are covered under ‘Eligibility’ below. The Historic Sports Car Club will be the organising club. There will be five rounds of the HTCC in 2018: May 4th – 6th Donington Historic Festival 60 mins June 2nd - 3rd Thruxton 50th Anniversary 2 x 30 mins July 20th – 22nd Silverstone Classic 45 mins August 27th Oulton Park Gold Cup 50 mins October 19th – 21st Algarve Classic Festival 120 mins RACE DETAILS Each race will be for two (or exceptionally one) driver entries, open strictly by the invitation of Motor Racing Legends, to drivers of all nationalities holding a minimum of a National ‘A’ or International Historic race licence. For UK races, a minimum of a National ‘B’ will be acceptable. Each race will feature a compulsory pit stop and driver change where relevant. The car must be at rest for a minimum of 60 seconds during the pit stop. Any car failing to make a pit stop will be excluded from the results. Any car failing to make a pit stop within the pit window will incur a Drive-Through penalty. The exception to this rule will be the Algarve Classic Festival meeting. Separate pit-stop regulations will be published for this race. ELIGIBILITY The Historic Touring Car Challenge is open to Touring Cars complying with the following FIA regulations: Group A from 1st January 1982 to 31st December 1990; Group 2 from 1st January 1966 to 31st December 1981; Group 5 from 1st January 1966 to 31st December 1969; All cars must conform to the relevant sections Appendix ‘J’ of the International Sporting Code of the period; and to technical requirements of the current Appendix ‘K’ of the International Sporting Code.

    Clermont-Ferrand (France), October 31, 2014 Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin evaluating 17- and 18-inch tyres Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin share the same vision that motorsport permits innovative technologies to be fostered in a competitive environment with a view to achieving closer ties with the technologies that are available to the motoring public. Accordingly, the two partners are currently exploring the feasibility of switching to 18- and 17-inch tyres for the Formula Renault 3.5 Formula Renault 2.0 championships respectively from 2016. An initial test session based on Formula Renault 3.5 cars was carried out at Valencia, Spain, followed by a second featuring Formula Renault 2.0 cars at Barcelona, again in Spain. Given the positive results achieved at these tests, Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin are pleased to announce their intention to pursue this joint-development programme, and further sessions are planned over the months ahead. Since January, the collaboration between Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin has enabled the two companies to collect a significant amount of data after completing several hundred kilometres in testing. The two entities are carefully studying the results of this groundwork in order to obtain a thorough understanding of the repercussions any changes in tyre dimensions might have for the drivers, as well as in terms of grip and suspension performance. As far as factors such as top speed, road holding, tyre wear and the wear of other components are concerned, the early conclusions are positive. Despite requiring a certain number of small modifications, the cars feature a more modern look and benefit from enhanced cornering performance.

    Porsche 919 Hybrid Return to top-level sport Porsche is making its comeback to the top-level motorsport arena: with the new 919 Hybrid the sports car brand is sending a platform for pioneering technology to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the undisputed seasonal highlight of the 24-hour Le Mans race. Porsche's reputation precedes it at this venue: with 16 overall victories under its belt, the brand holds the record for this, the most famous endurance race in the world. In 2014 Porsche is returning to the top-level class endurance race after a 16-year absence - namely Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1). Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG explains: "The new and revolutionary efficiency regulations for this class were what prompted us to take this step. In 2014 it is not going to be the fastest contender who is going to win the sports car world championship and Le Mans, but the car that gets furthest with the defined amount of energy. The new WEC regulations for the LMP1 racing car gives engineers an unusual amount of leeway and demands pioneering technology, such as hybridisation, downsizing engines and consistent lightweight construction.     Press Kit 2018 // introduction Launched in 2016 by Renault Sport Racing and Renault Sport Formula One Team, the Renault Sport Academy is tasked with discovering and nurturing young driver talent through the racing ranks, where, ultimately, Renault Sport Formula One Team aims to find drivers able to deliver the team world championship titles. Drivers are selected on ability and potential, with the Academy able to draw upon Renault Sport Racing’s vast experience in motorsport as well as its global markets to find such talent. Mia Sharizman manages the programme and has a range of experience in motorsport including at Formula 1, Formula 2 and GP3 level. For 2018, the Academy has retained four drivers from its 2017 intake. Jack Aitken, a member since its inception in 2016, signs for a third year, as does Sun Yue Yang. Max Fewtrell and Christian Lundgaard both impressed in their first seasons with the Academy and both remain for a second year. The Academy is delighted to welcome three new drivers to the programme. As part of his prize for winning the highly-competitive Formula Renault Eurocup, Sacha Fenestraz has agreed to accept a place with the Academy. Arthur Rougier, winner of the 2017 French Formula 4 Championship, is on-board for 2018, alongside Victor Martins, runner-up to Arthur in his rookie season of single-seater racing. Four members will go wheel to wheel in the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018 with Max, Christian, Arthur and Victor all set to contest the exciting series that races on nine Grand Prix circuits, including the streets of Monaco.
