Phone: 0413-2222928 Email: [email protected] Web: www.pmsss.org.in Foreword The National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme), being an apex training arm of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India has been playing a pro-active role of facilitating, nurturing, promoting the development of entrepreneurship and growth of enterprises for more than five decades in our country. ni-msme, has entrusted task to enhance the skills of unemployed youth in various trades with follow-up activity and provide them with either self or wage employment under the “Scheme of Assistance to Training Institutes” from 2009-10 by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. It has been a journey of immense pleasure and at the same time a challenge. In general, most of youth want to skip the foundational entrepreneurship training and jump straight to the business, hence the very reason that most people fail. Therefore, ni-msme, in the training package designed a structured set of modules of both entrepreneurship and skill development with practical learning that highlight business development. It is showing positive results bringing together sources and ideas that have proven to be effective and appropriate both for low- income with little formal education apart from other educated un-employed. Also in all the programmes personal development training is also being imparted to their long-term success in business. As brought out earlier, ni-msme would like to present few more success stories to present a glance of the Institute’s efforts in nurturing entrepreneurship and enterprises in many locations of few States. The total credit goes to those youth for their keenness to learn, hard work in enhancing their skills and by establishing micro to small enterprises or employed in better institutions and increased their earnings for a better life. These cases will continue to inspire the future generation of Trainees. In this context, we would like to thank the faculty and consultants and also the franchises providing their infrastructure and technical support, for their commitment and leadership in implementing the scheme for true cause for the society. He completed his graduation in B.A.English. He got married and has two sons. His wife is running a petty shop and he was unemployed for the past two years. He was searching for a job. He is running his family from the money getting from that petty shop. He went for many interviews, but he couldn’t get any job. He was degraded by everyone in his family because of jobless. He felt bad and lost his hope of getting a job. During this time his wife saw the advertisement in the newspaper that the free DTP course offered by NIMSME. With his wife’s support he joined, learnt, and completed the course in Vadalur Centre. PMSSS staff also motivated him whenever he was depressed. He learnt designing the calendars, pamphlets, banners. And the EDP training session increased his confidence and aware about the opportunities. PRESENT STATUS After the completion of the DTP course successfully he started an own digital designing shop in Kattumannar Koil. He started designing banners and calendars. He invested Rs.1, 00,000 to open the shop. After the course completion he is happy that now he supports his family financially and also he has got the confidence now. Now he is earning Rs.9, 000/- to Rs.12, 000/-. Designing for calendar is a yearly once order in that time he could get more income minimum of Rs.25, 000/-. Its based on the order. He whole heartily thanked NI-MSME for giving him the bright future and guiding him to the correct path. SUCCESS STORIES 1 NIMSME ESDP IN MOBILE REPAIRING NAME : G.VARUN FATHER NAME : N.GANDHI ADDRESS : MARIAMMAN KOIL STREET, VADALUR DISTRICT : CUDDALORE STATE : TAMIL NADU CONTACT NO : 965989339 FAMILY BACKGROUND Mr. Varun is from Vadalur in Cuddalore District. His father is a farmer. He has two elder sisters. It is too difficult to run his family because of economic problem. His father is the only person who earns in his family. He completed only his HSC and he was not able to continue his college studies due to lack of financial problem in his family. He has to support his family financially. His father asked him to do agriculture work along with him. At this time he came to know about the free Mobile repairing course offered by NIMSME through his friend. He immediately joined the course in Vadalur Centre. During the training he was happy and eager to learn all the mobile repairing process. He completed the course successfully. After the course completion he got the certificates from NIMSME. PRESENT STATUS At present he is an owner of the BASHA MOBILE SERVICE SHOP in Vadalur. He invested Rs.50, 000 to open a new shop. Now he is earning Rs.7000 to Rs.9000 per month. He feels proud that he is a owner of the shop and he is supporting his family financially. He expressed his thanks to NI-MSME for giving him a new confidential life. SUCCESS STORIES 2 NIMSME ESDP IN DESIGNING & MANUFACTURING OF ARTIFICIAL JEWELRY NAME : K.KANIMOZHI FATHER NAME : V. KARUNAMOORTHY ADDRESS : 12, BUDDHAR STREET, BEHIND RAMAN RICE MILL, KUMBAKONAM ROAD, VADALUR. DISTRICT : CUDDALORE STATE : TAMIL NADU CONTACT : 9524884320 FAMILY BACKGROUND Mrs.Kanimozhi is 22 year’s old woman from Vadalur District. Her father passed away, her mother is taking care of her family. Due to lack of financial problem in her family, she discontinued her studies. Her education is only 12th standard. She lost her confident that she cannot earn money in future to help her family. She came to know about the free jewel making course offered by NIMSME through her friend at Vadalur. She immediately went and joined the free Artificial Jewel making course in Vadalur Centre. She made use of the course and learnt everything. The course was useful to her and she happily completed. After joining the course her confident level was increased and she got the certification from NI-MSME. PRESENT STATUS Now she started own shop name called MONI’s Artificial jewelry shop. She invested an amount of Rs.25, 000/-. At present she is earning Rs.6,000/- to Rs.7,500/- as an income per month. She is happy that now her income supports her family and her family’s financial burden decreased. She thanked NI-MSME for bringing confidence among herself and an opportunity to sustain in her life. SUCCESS STORIES 3 NIMSME ESDP IN DESIGNING & MANUFACTURING OF ARTIFICIAL JEWELRY NAME : M.MALATHY FATHER NAME : N.MANI ADDRESS : NO,10- POONGA NAGAR, GANAPATHY STREET, VADALUR DISTRICT : CUDDALORE STATE : TAMIL NADU CONTACT NO : 8508017738 FAMILY BACKGROUND Mrs. Malathy is 35 years old married woman from Vadalur. She has one son and her husband is working in a private company. Her husband’s income is not enough to run her family. She decided to support her family. She thought of learning some additional course. At that time she saw the advertisement in the newspaper regarding free NIMSME jewel making course offered at Vadalur Center. She joined the course in Vadalur Centre. She made use of the practical sessions and this enabled her to think creatively and design the jewels differently. She completed her course successfully with certification. PRESENT STATUS She is so happy after joining in this course. She got loan of Rs.30, 000 from her neighbors for interest and invested that money to start a new artificial jewellery shop in Vadalur. She designed bridal set jewellery and giving it for rent. Now she is earning up to Rs.8, 000 to Rs.10, 000 per month. Now she could support her family financially and also for her son’s education. She thanked NI-MSME for providing this valuable course to her. He has completed only his 8th standard. Due to economic problem in his family he didn’t continue his studies. His father is a coolie. He has one elder brother studying engineering. He is from poor family. Because of his family situation he started going for daily wages work and helps for his brother’s education.
