The dance originated in three different sequences created on the upper body. These were translated into leg phrases and combined in a stream of vernacular gesture and rhythmic variation. These performances have been made possible in part by public funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of New York. ti I - -- v., ` \ I 'SM."
