SARGuide™ System SARGuide,™ with integrated electroluminescent “EXIT” signage, addresses the increasing concern about safe public egress, particularly in low-visibility conditions. Research shows that in panic conditions, exit signs and locations go unnoticed. Smoke rises and can quickly block the visibility of standard exit signage. SARGuide increases visibility which provides an extended window of opportunity for safe emergency egress. SARGuide can be wired for continuous operation or for operation only when an emergency alarm is activated. Currently required egress equipment (exit signs and emergency lights) may offer limited guidance when building occupants are unfamiliar with secondary exit locations. SARGuide dramatically improves the safety of any public building.

SARGuide can be used as a stand alone feature or as an integral part of E-Lume-A-Path™ Egress Path Marketing Systems. E-Lume-A-Path enhances the ability of a person to escape a building by illuminating the path to safety through existing exits. The system will respond to a power outage or fire alarm and consists of a strip of FLATLITE® ™ electro-luminescent lamp at the floor level that can SARGuide go down hallways, around corners and stairwells, 8200 Mortise Lock hundreds of feet in length. It can help supplement currently required Egress equipment such as Exit (TL- Prefix) Signs and Emergency Lights, which may have limited effectiveness when building occupants do not know the location of secondary exits.

How to Change Lock Function: The Green Catch Screw must be located in the designated location as specified on the lock case to produce the desired function. There are three locations: one location for 05, 37 & 38 functions; one location for 04, 06, 13, 17 & 31 functions; and one location for 36 function. Note: When relocating the green catch screw to produce the following Functions 04, 06, 13, 17 & 31, the hub must be at the 45° position as specified on the case before screwing in the green catch screw. Note: For 17 and 52 functions only, the red locking piece must be rotated 90°, so the red surface is facing the back of the lockbody. This is required to make both levers rigid.
