His school, the Oriental Moo Do School of Colorado, only tests black belt in June each year. The testing is overseen by Grand Master Kim, originally from Korea, who comes to Colorado from California. Kjell had to write a 10-page paper in addition to submitting his own credentials, which include third place in board breaking and forms at the Colorado State competition, and being on his school’s Demonstration Team for three years. He received word of his promotion on June 23rd, after working at our booth at the Scandi- navian Festival. His official promotion took place on August 24th. He is very excited.
