The Highlands is the area north and west of the Highland Boundary Fault (from Arran and Helensburgh on the west coast stretching across to Stonehaven in the east). It is the uppermost part of Scotland (made up of six smaller regions) and home to famous attractions such as Ben Nevis and Loch Ness, towns (notably Fort William, Nairn and Aviemore) and the “City of the Highlands” - Inverness. Traditionally visitors wishing to experience the beautiful Scottish outdoors will travel to the Highlands to visit the scenic lochs, tall snow capped, mountains, vast glens, ancient monuments as well as the beaches and bays along North Scotland’s iconic coastline. Seals, puffins, whales and dolphins are often spotted on these shores. Emergency Department Activity
NHS Scotland - Emergency Department Activity Attendances and Performance against the 4-hour Waiting Time Standard This is an ISD Scotland National Statistics release. The Scottish Government waiting time standard for emergency departments is that 98 % of all attendances should be seen within 4 hours. The figures presented in these tables detail the performance of each individual site and NHS board against the standard. The framework has evolved since then, to now capture key elements of what the Scottish Government considers to be a high-performing planning service. These include: • speed of decision-making • certainty of timescales, process and advice • delivery of good quality development • project management • clear communications and open engagement • an overall ‘open for business’ attitude This Framework gives a balanced measurement of the overall quality of the planning service in Inverclyde, identifying what happened in 2016-17 as well as what is planned for 2017-18. It will form the basis on which the Scottish Government will assess planning performance against the backdrop of Inverclyde Council determining planning applications considerably faster than the Scottish average and benefitting from an up-to–date Local Development Plan and on-track replacement. The guide is broken into three sections: • Section 1 Issues and things to think about. This section provides an overview of important issues and identifies where to find out further information. • Section 2 Who’s who and what’s their role. This outlines the main staff and agencies likely to be involved in supporting the person with dementia and their key roles. • Section 3 Local and national supports and services. This section provides contact details for advice, information and support in your area for you and the person with dementia. We hope you find this guide a real help to you and your family in living with dementia. transport guide FOREWORD The Moray Forum is a constituted voluntary organisation that was established to provide a direct link between the Area Forums and the Moray Community Planning Partnership. The Forum is made up of two representatives of each of the Area Forums and meets on a regular basis. Further information about The Moray Forum is available on: www.yourmoray.org.uk Area Forums are recognised by the Moray Community Planning Partnership as an important means of engaging local people in the Community Planning process. In rural areas - such as Moray - transport is a major consideration, so in September 2011 the Moray Forum held its first transport seminar to look at the issues and concerns that affect our local communities in respect of access to transport. Two actions that came from that event was the establishment of a Passenger Forum and a Transport Providers Network. This work was taken forward by the Moray Forum Transport Working Group made up of representatives of the Area Forums, Moray Council, NHS Grampian, tsiMORAY, and community transport schemes. In September 2013 the Working Group repeated the seminar to see how much progress had been made on the actions and issues identified in 2011. As a direct result of the work of the Group this Directory has been produced in order to address an on-going concern that has been expressed of the lack of information on what transport is available in Moray, the criteria for accessing certain transport services, and where to go for further advice. The Moray Forum Transport Working Group would like to acknowledge the help of all the people who provided information for this Directory, and thereby made a contribution towards the integration of public, private and community transport services within Moray. -

INTRODUCTION The West Renfrew Hills lie within the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and stretch from Inverkip and Wemyss Bay in the west to the edge of Loch Thom in the east and adjoin the North Ayrshire Special Landscape Area to the south. Patterns of hillside and coastal landscapes combine with the varied patterns of vegetation to help define the character of the rural areas and provide a functional setting for the urban areas of Inverclyde. 2. POLICY CONTEXT Scotland’s landscapes are recognised as a major asset, contributing to national, regional and local identities, adding to the qualities of many people’s lives and providing attractive settings which help promote social and economic development. The European Landscape Convention (ELC) highlights the importance of an ‘all landscapes’ approach to landscaping and encourages more attention to their care and planning. This provides a framework for work on Scotland's landscapes based on a set of five principles: people, from all cultures and communities, lie at the heart of efforts for landscape, as we all share an interest in, and responsibility for, its well-being; the landscape is important everywhere, not just in special places and whether beautiful or degraded; landscapes will continue to evolve in response to our needs, but this change needs to be managed; better awareness and understanding of our landscapes and the benefits they provide is required; and an inclusive, integrated and forward-looking approach to managing the landscapes we have inherited, and in shaping new ones, is required. -
