Braves stay red hot with series sweep

ATLANTA (AP) — Freddie Freeman said Dansby Swanson was the perfect choice to hit with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Freeman’s reasoning? It was Swanson’s time for a hit to final- ly fall. Swanson delivered an RBI sin- gle with two outs in the ninth and the Atlanta Braves, boosted by Freeman’s two home runs and double, beat the San Diego Padres 5-4 Monday night for a four-game sweep in their first series at SunTrust Park. Swanson took a .146 batting average into the game and was 0 for 4 before dropping the single just in front of diving left fielder Allen Cordoba. “We don’t want anyone in that situation other than him because he was due,” Freeman said of Swanson. “It came at the right time.” Swanson said he even heard about his slow start to the sea- son from his father. “Sometimes it just feels like you can’t hit it away from them,” Swanson said. “My dad, we were eating dinner last night for Easter, and he was like ‘They’ve been playing there for 100 years. His second homer tied it in the eighth, but it was Swanson who was swarmed on the field by his teammates and then doused with a water bucket. “Amazing,” Swanson said. “The Banner photo, PATRICK MacCOON hit was great and the fact we won was great but seeing how TUCKER MENDENHALL had a career day with two triples, a double and a single in Walker Valley’s rout of East Hamilton on a rainy Monday evening. I Maybe I’d better explain. I recently had the misfortune of experiencing the TSA’s recently enhanced pat-down procedure. According to ABC News, you see, an audit by the Department of Homeland Security determined that TSA officers failed 95 per- cent of airport security tests in which undercover agents snuck mock explosives and banned weapons right by them. As a result, the TSA modified its screening procedures. Officers used to have five pat-down types to choose from — five degrees of thoroughness, in a manner of speaking — but now they have one. And, boy, is it invasive. As I attempted to board a flight in San Antonio, my computer bag was flagged by the X-ray machine. The TSA officers pulled me aside for “special screening.” Three officers rooted through my computer and carry-on bags like crack addicts looking for change. A fourth snapped on a fresh pair of white Purcell plastic gloves and began working me over like I was a side of Kobe beef. I tried to maintain my composure, but “no means no” had zero effect. “Don’t touch my junk” fell on equally deaf ears. Now, I can empathize with the poor fellow who was doing my screening. It’s not his fault that religious fanatics are driving cars OUR into innocent crowds, shooting co-workers at Christmas parties COUNTY and attempting to hide explosives in their skivvies so they can Broadband legislation blow our planes out of the sky.
