The Express Train S7

The S7 runs twice hourly, at 18 and 48 past the hour from Vienna Airport to Wien Mitte train station (directly). This takes around 26 minutes and costs (€3,90). The Landstraße-Wien Mitte subway (U-Bahn) station is also at Wien Mitte. From Landstraße take the in the direction of Ottakring and stop at Volkstheater. From there it is either a 6 minute walk, or one stop on the in the direction of , to the Rathaus U-Bahn station. During weekdays, the U-Bahn runs every 3–5 minutes.

CAT (City Airport Train)

The CAT train is an efficient method to travel from Vienna Airport to Wien Mitte station. The journey takes 16 minutes non-stop and costs €11 (when ticket is purchased online). It leaves at 9 and 39 minutes past the hour. See above for further directions from Wien Mitte station.

Bus

Vienna Airport Lines (VAL) buses depart from Vienna Airport to the city every 30 minutes. There are three routes. VAL 1 leaves at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour from ‘Flughafen Wien Busterminal’ (Vienna Airport Bus Terminal). It takes 55 minutes to get to the Rathaus (Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz) directly. If booked in advance a single ticket costs €8 (€13 return).
