Bogdahn Marc Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany

Mr. Marc Bogdahn is currently Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. Before coming to Athens in 2016 Mr. Bogdahn was Head of Division, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia in the German Federal Foreign Office, Berlin. Genimata Fofi President of the Movement for Change

Ms Fofi Genimata was born in Athens in 1964. She studied Political Science and Public Administration at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. Ms Genimata currently holds the office of the President of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK), having been elected on 14th June 2015, while she is the Head of the Μοvement for Change. Following the elections held in November 2017, Ms Genimata was elected Leader of the new Centre-Left political body in uniting movements and parties from the wider spectrum of social democracy, and political liberalism. She serves as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for the Athens B electoral prefecture since September 2015, having been elected twice before in 2000-2002 and in January 2015. Throughout her political career Ms Genimata has held numerous government offices. In 2009 she was appointed as Vice Minister of Health and Social Solidarity. From 2010 to 2011 she held the office of the Alternate Minister of Education and Lifelong Learning, while in 2011-2012 she served as Alternate Minister of the Interior. For two years (January 2013 - January 2015) she was Alternate Minister of National Defense. Ms Genimata exhibits a long and active presence in the field of local administration. In 2003 she was elected Super-Prefect for Athens and Piraeus, serving until 2007. During the same period she acted as President of the Prefectures Union of Greece. Since 1996 Ms Genimata is the Chairman of the «Georgios Genimatas Association», devoted to the memory of her late father, who served as Minister in the decades of 1980 and 1990. Keynote Speakers

Maillis Michael President of BoD of the German-Greek Chamber of Industry and Commerce

M. J. Maillis, was born in Athens and studied Iron Metallurgy at the PolyTechnical school Clausthal-Zellerfeld in Western Germany. In 1973 he founded M.J.Maillis S.A. and succeeded in transforming a small-size local company into a multinational Group, in a quite demanding industrial segment. Today, M.J.Maillis Group is a leading player in the global secondary packaging market, with production units and commercial affiliates in 20 countries in Europe and North America. Since 2007 M.J. Maillis is also the Chairman of the BoD of the Greek German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, M.J. Mitsotakis Kyriakos President of NEW DEMOCRACY

Kyriakos Mitsotakis obtained his bachelor degree in Social Studies, summa cum laude, from Harvard University in 1990. During his studies at Harvard he received the Hoopes and Tocqueville prizes and earned an MA in International Relations from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.Kyriakos worked in London as a financial analyst with Chase Investment Bank and as a consultant with McKinsey and Company. In 1997 he joined Alpha Ventures in Greece, as a senior investment officer. In 1999 Kyriakos joined the National Bank of Greece as a chief executive officer of NBG Venture Capital. In January 2003 he was nominated by the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader of Tomorrow. Kyriakos was elected to parliament with New Democracy in 2004, 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2015. Until June 2012, Kyriakos was the shadow minister for the environment and climate change for New Democracy. Between 2007-2009 he served as the chairman of the environment committee of the Hellenic Parliament. Kyriakos served as minister of administrative reform and e-governance from June 2013 until January 2015. From February until November 2015, he was the first in order parliamentary representative of New Democracy in Parliament. Keynote Speakers

Pagoulatos George Professor of European Politics and Economy, Athens University of Economics and Business

George Pagoulatos is Professor of European Politics and Economy at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. He is Vice President of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), and a member of the Governing Board of the Brussels- based European Policy Centre (EPC). He was Senior Advisor and Director of Strategy at the Prime Minister’s Office in 2011-12. Member of the High Council of the European University Institute in Florence (2010-13), and President of ECSA-Greece (2013-14), he is a regular columnist in the Sunday edition of since 2007. His research focuses on the EMU and the EU, Greece and Southern Europe, political economy of finance, political economy of reform. Pagoulatos holds degrees from the University of Athens (LLB) and the University of Oxford (MSc and DPhil), where he was a Rhodes Scholar. Stathakis George Minister of Environment and Energy

He studied Economics at the University of Athens and received a Masters degree in the University of Newcastle. Since 1988, he is a Professor of Political Economy in the University of Crete. In the past, he has collaborated with the Center for European Studies, Harvard University and with the Center for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, Queens College, City University of New York. He is a member of the Hellenic Parliament with SYRIZAand Vice – Rector of the University of Crete. He is married with Themis Geckou and has two children. Keynote Speakers

Stournaras Yannis Governor of Bank of Greece

Born in Athens, December 10, 1956. He graduated from the Department of Economics, University of Athens (1978). He obtained his post-graduate degrees (MPhil 1980, DPhil 1982) from Oxford University, where he also worked from 1981 to 1985 as a Research Fellow and Lecturer at St. Catherine’s College and as Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. Today he is Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Athens (joined 1989). From 1994 to July 2000 he was Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. From 2000 to 2004 he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Emporiki Bank. He served as Director General of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) (September 2009-June 2012). He was Minister of Finance from July 2012 until June 2014. Waelbroeck-Rocha Elisabeth Chief International Economist - IΗS MARKIT ECONOMICS

Elisabeth heads the team grouping IHS Markit’s capabilities in the fields of Economic and Financial Data, International Economic Forecasts, Country, Banking and Sovereign Risk Analysis, Modeling and Scenarios, and Applied Economic Consulting. Between 2000 and 2012, Elisabeth Waelbroeck-Rocha was Chief Economist and Vice-President of BIPE, a French consulting company. Prior to that she worked 15 years at Standard & Poor’s DRI, a predecessor of IHS Global Insight, where she was Chief European Economist and Research Director for Europe. Dr. Elisabeth Waelbroeck-Rocha holds a PhD in Economics, a Masters degree in Econometrics and a Degree in Economics from the University of Brussels, Belgium. Apostolides Pascal General Manager, AbbVie Pharmaceuticals S.A.

Holder of a BSc degree in Chemistry, a BA in Economic Geography, and a post graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He also received a MSc in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Stratchclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. He worked for 7 years in the German affiliate and 4 years at Abbott Park Chicago. In 2001 he returned to Greece as Managing Director of Abbott Laboratories Hellas. Since January 2013, Pascal Apostolides holds the position of the Managing Director of AbbVie, a new, independent, and global biopharmaceutical company which retains in its portfolio innovative medicines for serious and chronic diseases, following Abbott’s separation in two individual companies. He was also the President of the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE) for the term 2015-2018, and a member of the Pharma Committee of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and member of the BoD. Christodoulakis Nicos Professor, Athens University of Economics & Business, ex-Minister

Nicos Christodoulakis, 67, is Professor of Economic Analysis at the Athens University of Economics & Business, and a Visiting Professor at the Hellenic Observatory in the European Institute, LSE. Author of several papers and books on macroeconomics and economic policy, including “How Crises Shaped Economic Ideas and Policies” (Springer, 2014), the “Greek Endgame: From austerity to growth or Grexit” (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015), and “An Economic Analysis of Conflicts” (Springer, 2016). He held various public offices and was an MP (1999-2007). In 2002- 2004 he was Minister of Finance and –during the Greek EU presidency - chairman of the Eurogroup (July 2002-June 2003). Participated in the caretaker Government (August-September 2015) as Minister for the Economy. His latest book “Rebooting the Greek Economy” describes an alternative approach to the current policy mix by lowering taxes, primary surpluses and insurance contributions, while advancing investment financing. Ioannou George Director, Management Science Laboratory School of Business, Athens University of Economics & Business

Dr. George Ioannou is Professor of Production & Operations Management at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business, serving also the Director of the Management Science Laboratory. He was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Virginia Tech, directing the Manufacturing Systems Integration Lab, and Director of the International MBA Program of AUEB. Dr. Ioannou received his diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and his M.Sc./DIC in Industrial Robotics and Manufacturing Automation from Imperial College, London, UK. He was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute for Systems Research of the University of Maryland at College Park, USA, where he received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Kantoros Yiannis CEO, INTERAMERICAN Group

Yiannis Kantoros, CEO of INTERAMERICAN Group of Companies was born in Athens in 1966. He has graduated with bachelor degree in chemical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and afterwards he accomplished his MBA studies at the Cardiff Business School. After his academic studies, he started his professional career as Sales Management Executive in multinational companies, such as Bausch & Lomb and Rhone Poulenc Hellas. Kikilias Elias M.Sc. Ph.D, General Manager, INSETE

Dr. Elias Kikilias, is the General Manager at the Institute of the Confederation of Greek Tourism (Institute SETE - INSETE) and a Research Director at the National Centre for Social Research of Greece. Between 2009 and 2013 he was the Governor of the Manpower Employment Organization of Greece (OAED – Public Employment Service). He previously held the positions of Director General of the Greek National Institute of Labour and Chairman and CEO of Human Resources Support Services SA. He has been a Professor at the Graduate School of Public Administration, visiting Professor at the Panteion University of Athens and visiting scholar and visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge in the UK. He has considerable experience in policy design, research planning and coordination. Liapakis Xenofon Chairman, Hellenic CIO Forum

Mr. Liapakis graduated from University of Patras with a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics. He is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics, University of Patras and his main areas of interests include Information technology, Big data, Agile & Lean methodologies and Business transformation and operational excellence etc. For 18 years worked as IT Manager of the Phoenix Metrolife Commercial insurance company. Since April 2008, Mr. Liapakis is an executive board member of Interamerican, which is the largest private insurance company in Greece and part of the Dutch Achmea Group - one of the largest insurance groups in Europe, having today the CDO & CIO roles of the Group. Markopouliotis George Head, European Commission Representation in Greece

George Markopouliotis was born in Athens in 1960. A mathematician and statistician by training, he began working for the European Commission in 1987. In the course of his career he has worked in the areas of Regional Policy, Maritime Affairs, Fishing and Communication and has held a number of high level posts, including in the Cabinets of several Commissioners (member and Head of Cabinet). He took up office as Head of the European Commission Representation in Greece on 1 February 2018, a post he also held from 2001 to 2006. Between March 2012 and January 2018 he served as Head of the Representation in Cyprus. Panelists

Dr Michailidou Domna Adjunct Lecturer, Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge

Dr Domna Michailidou is a Greek economist working on financial crises, public finances and economic development. She is currently the Reforms’ Adviser to the Leader of the Major Opposition Party, New Democracy, in Greece. She is advising the Leader, Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on a series of issues related to financial markets, structural reforms and macroeconomic growth. Domna Michailidou is also Adjunct Lecturer in the Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge where she teaches topics related to finance and development, private and public debt and government regulation. She has worked for the OECD in Paris and Athens as an economist and a competition expert. Dr Michailidou has also taught at the Judge Business School University of Cambridge and UCL’s School of Public Policy. Her latest book, The Inexorable Evolution of Financialisation: Financial Crises in Emerging Markets, was published by Palgrave MacMillan. Orestis Omran is a Counsel in the Brussels Office of DLA Piper and the Head of the firm’s EU-Greek Practice. Orestis focuses on EU regulatory matters in the energy, infrastructure and banking sectors. A US and Greek qualified attorney, Orestis has experience ranging from EU Public Private Partnerships and Procurement to representing global corporates in formal and informal state aid and other investigations before the European Commission, national regulatory authorities and subsequent proceedings before the EU Courts. Petroutsos Costas Managing Director, LeasePlan Hellas

Costas Petroutsos is the Managing Director of LeasePlan Hellas, the global and local leader in fleet management services and vehicle leasing. He started at the company in 2005 as Finance Director and Member of the BoD. From the different roles within LeasePlan he has contributed significantly to grow from a start-up in 2003 to a well- established organisation and market leader in 2017. His previous roles were Finance Manager at Eurolease, Tefin and Unitbank companies, all of them subsidiaries of Toyota Hellas. He has also been in the position of Finance and Administration Director of Sony Music Entertainment (subsidiary of Sony). Costas’s support and contribution to both business development as well as optimising costs and bring efficiency to various areas was one of his main characteristics. Spinthourakis Manolis Journalist, correspondent in Brussels

Manolis Spinthourakis studied Economics at the University of Piraeus and completed his Master course at the Paris Sorbonne 1 University in Paris. Following the completion of his studies, he moved to Brussels to do a traineeship with the European Commission. He then worked for 4 years at the European Parliament. Mr. Spinthourakis started his career as a journalist with the Greek newspaper Mesimvrini (Μεσημβρινή). He worked for many years in Brussels as a correspondent for the newspapers “” and “”, as well as for Mega Channel. Since 1996 until 2019 he was the chief coordinator of the Agency bureau in Brussels. Mr. Stavrou joined AB in 1994 as Head of Standardization of Fruit & Vegetables department. In 1997 he served as director of the AB Buying and Quality Assurance Department. In 2000 he became Head of Human Resources Department while in February 2012 he undertook the role of SVP HR/-OD & Sustainability of Delhaize Europe. From May 1st, 2014, Mr. Stavrou served as DG SVP & Chief Business Development Officer for Southeastern Europe (SEE) & Indonesia. From July 1st, 2015 and up to end of September 2018 he was operating as Chief Operating Officer of Mega Image in Romania. Tsakloglou Panos Professor, Athens University of Economics and Business

Tsakloglou Panos is a Professor at Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. His research focuses on questions of inequality, poverty, social exclusion, returns to education and social policy (especially, the redistributive role of the state). He has published over ninety articles in scholarly journals and contributions to collective volumes, participated in a large number of conferences and workshops and has been a partner in over forty international and national research and consultancy projects. He is Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA, Bonn) and Senior Research Fellow of the Hellenic Observatory (LSE, London). During the period 2012-2014 he was Chairman of the Greek Government’s Council of Economic Advisors and member of the EU Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) and Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) and alternate member of Ecofin and Eurogroup. Tsoukalis Loukas President, ELIAMEP, Sciences Po Paris

Loukas Tsoukalis was born in Athens. He studied economics and international relations at the University of Manchester, the College of Europe in Bruges, and the University of Oxford where he obtained his doctoral degree and taught for many years. He later became Professor of European Integration at the University of Athens and Professor at the European Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science as the first holder of the Eleftherios Venizelos Chair. He was Visiting Professor at Harvard University (Kennedy School) in 2016. He has advised the former President of the European Commission and the former President of the European Council. He is now Emeritus Professor of the University of Athens and President of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). He also teaches at the Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po) and the College of Europe in Bruges. His books include several editions of The New European Economy and What Kind of Europe? translated in many languages. His latest book In Defence of Europe: Can the European Project Be Saved? was published in 2016 by Oxford University Press. Anastasios Tzikas was born in Thessaloniki in 1958 and graduated from the faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from the Department of Electrical Engineering. Anastasios Tzikas is President of the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology and Communications Enterprises (SEPE) and of the High Technology Business Park Technopolis Thessaloniki S.A. He is the President of the Board of Thessaloniki International Fair – Helexpo S.A., a Board Member of the Information Society S.A., a Member of the Hellenic Australian Business Council, a Board Member of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization as well as Honorary President of the Association of Information Technology Companies of Northern Greece (SEPVE), of which he was President for more than 15 years. He was one of the founders of Singular Software S.A. where he was Managing Director from 1987 to 2004 and President of the Board of Directors until 2005. Spyros Venetsianos joined Eurobank in 2004 to create the Project Finance team and remained the head of the department until late 2013. He is currently the Head of the Structured Finance Unit, within the Group Corporate & Investment Banking division which entails the Hotels & Leisure Finance, Project Finance, Commercial Real Estate Finance and Leverage Finance & Special Situation teams. These teams act in all countries in which the Eurobank Group has a presence, while main focus is in Greece. Alexander Zinell, born in 1967, is a business graduate and has been with Fraport since 2001. As from 2003, he held executive positions for six years at Fraport subsidiaries in the U.S. and Turkey.
