The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is sponsoring a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) for a delegation of officials from and Panama focused on green . The goal of this RTM is to familiarize these officials with U.S. technology and service capabilities for environmentally friendly port operations, along with regulatory and related environmental best practices for the ports sector. Delegates will meet with federal and state regulators, environmental engineering and consulting providers, service and maintenance providers, financiers and U.S. operators/suppliers of related U.S. equipment and services.

BACKGROUND

MEXICO PANAMA Mexico’s port operators are expected to invest The Panamanian ports system is comprised of over $100 billion in the next five years, which is anticipated 26 ports, 19 of which are administered by the government. to present significant commercial opportunities for U.S. Significant upgrades are expected at several ports in companies. Potential delegates from Mexico may include Panama to coincide with the expansion of the Panama representatives from the Secretariat of Communications and . Potential delegates from Panama may include Transportation (SCT), Secretariat of the Environment and representatives from the National Environmental Authority Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), and the Ports of Altamira, (ANAM), Authority (ACP), and Panama Ensenada, Guaymas, and Veracruz. Maritime Authority (AMP).

OPPORTUNITIES FOR U.S. COMPANIES

Interested companies can participate by: Attending a half-day Industry Roundtable on Tuesday, and/or Hosting the delegation for a meeting or site visit March 24th in Los Angeles where the delegates will in Miami, Houston, or Los Angeles to highlight your present upcoming project opportunities. Participating company’s best practices, products, technologies, companies will have an opportunity to schedule short equipment and/or services. one-on-one meetings with members of the delegation.
