This, when combined with the potential to secure a signifi cant increase in biomass from the region’s under-managed woodlands, gives us a unique opportunity to help continue our move to a low U Rudie Humphrey carbon economy through the use of renewable energy. The development of the Woodfuel Strategy (launched in 2005) was seen as a key step in taking forwards the opportunities that woodfuel across the region presents. This fi rst regional directory is a manifestation of this. Its aim is to reinforce the links in the woodfuel supply chain in order to ensure consistent and effective delivery on the ground. The priorities are drawn from the already agreed regional ‘Vision for Biomass’ – connecting suppliers with producers was one of its key objectives. The Forestry Commission now seeks to build on the work of the South Yorkshire Woodfuel cluster and the supply chain development programme; the Wood Energy Co-ordinator recruitment in the White Rose Forest; and Yorkshire Woodfuels co-ordinated by Yorwoods. We are grateful to all of these partners and the Biomass Energy Centre who have proved vital in the development of this directory.

This complements the learning they receive at their school to help children build skills for their future learning. Staff are friendly and caring, and children develop good attachments and bonds with them. As a result, children are happy, settle well and enjoy their time at the club. Children feel safe and secure in the setting and arrangements for safeguarding them are robust. The staff have very good partnerships with the parents. Daily feedback is given to parents about activities to promote continuity of care and learning. It is not yet outstanding because Children have fewer opportunities to learn about diversity to help them and their families recognise that they are equally valued. Staff do not always convey their high expectations of the children's behaviour in a positive way in order to enhance cooperation. Inspection report: Cowlersley Community Out of School Club, 17/09/2014 2 of 10 Information about this inspection Inspections of registered early years provision are: .

  • Primary School Guide 2013-14
Primary School Guide for Parents 2013-14 Deadline for applications 15 January 2013 Apply online: www.kirklees.gov.uk/admissions Dear parents and carers Welcome to the Directorate for Children and Young People in Kirklees. I am pleased that you are reading our guide on admissions to primary schools in Kirklees. We know that deciding on your preferred schools is an important, exciting and sometimes worrying time and a big step in every child’s life; we hope that this guide provides you with clear information about how the system works. We have included information about admissions procedures in this guide but there is not enough space to include details about all our schools. All schools are different and I hope that you will find time to arrange a visit to some of them or send for the prospectus of schools which interest you. Many schools hold open days and evenings to allow prospective parents to visit the school and talk to staff. All staff, whether based in schools or working in our directorate, work together to ensure that schools offer all children and young people the best possible opportunities. We are very proud of the achievements of children and young people locally and the work of schools to support them. Over the coming years we will be working in partnership to continue to develop and improve the district’s schools and this will support our ambition to raise the attainment, achievement and aspirations of every learner in Kirklees. We hope that we will be able to meet the preference you express.
