We’re not normal! We are not a Manor, Hall or Castle. We are not a Barn, Hotel or Estate, we are Ashfield HOUSE. When couples take over exclusively for their wedding day, our house becomes like their home and we become like their extended family!

Our house is a gorgeous blank canvas for weddings, it is grand yet homely and is jam packed full of quirky details (old and new) yet somehow manages to soak up the personality of each couple.

The atmosphere here is full of love and joy, probably because of the absolute legends that make up our wedding team, busy doing their dream job day in day out! Our house and our team are laid back, fun, creative and wild – but not so hipster your Nan wont approve!

We are not normal… being an independent family business means we let couples do their thing without a load of rules getting in the way. We love drinking brews & brainstorming about how to make each wedding awesome – with mind blowing in-house catering, with a layout designed specifi- cally for weddings and with 15 guest bedrooms, we really do ace it.

Shameless brag, we’ve won the UK’s best venue (town/city) 2017, 2018 and 2019. For 2020 we were living the dream as judges! We never stop evolving, much like Madonna Queen of Reinvention, we close each year to redecorate, renovate and populate our house with very lovely new things.

We’re chuffed our brochure has found its way to you but fear not, if we aren’t your cup of tea (or the cracker to your cheese) we wont be doing the hard sell. Although lets be honest, you’d be crazy not to at least come for a nosey, right? Its no secret that weddings are well and truly our ‘thing’ and every bit of the house is designed with weddings in mind. Deep down it’s the frivolous and eccentric that makes our hearts sing but we know that getting ready in the morning is serious business.

Our Sitting Room is super practical (and stylish, of course), flooded with natural light, makeup stations, more plugs than you can shake a straightener at, comfy sofas, dress hooks, Bluetooth speaker and air-conditioning – no hot mess here! The Sitting Room is no stranger to a beard trimmer and row of suits… its not always all about the ladies.

We include freshly baked pastries and fruit in the morning or you can order your favourite breakfast. Our fridge can be stocked with drinks to calm the jitters and you can enjoy unlimited nespressos.

Arrive as early as you like to get ready and come back throughout the day for a tidy up or a bit of quiet time. Having a separate space to get ready means that Room Number One is a clean and tidy oasis of loveliness to come back to when the party is over. Getting Ready The Space The Ceremony New for 2021, our wedding team are trained Celebrants! We want Getting married is arguably the most important part of to offer couples something pretty special for their ceremony. the day and it deserves a spectacular space! The Ceremony The Wedding Breakfast So if you aren’t familiar with the peculiar British phenomenon that is the wedding ‘breakfast’ let’s bring you up to speed… it’s not actually breakfast. Back in the day couples would fast before the wedding but modern day couples prefer to spend all morning scoffing coffee, prosecco and pastries!

Anyway, we’ve got somewhere glorious for your wedding meal, overlooking the garden and terrace, its a bright and airy beautiful blank canvas ready to be transformed into something that really represents you. We can seat up to 120 guests in here.

We have even created a stylish space to put all your ‘stuff’. Think photos, trinkets, flip flops, guest books, candy, cakes and you can even project onto the wall.

The Party We love a good shindig and honestly we think we have THE best space to do it in. The bar, seating and DJ are different zones of the same space, this holy grail of layouts means guests wont be scattered all over the house (unless you want to spread out or have an outrageous number of party-goers ).

The Library Bar is achingly cool and is fab for sinking into a sofa for a good chat. We host evening receptions up to 220 guests using both bars.

When it comes to entertainment we are self confessed DJ snobs… we include a DJ with every wedding booking and the small team of DJ’s we work with are bona fide top blokes (where are all the girl DJ’s anyway?!) If this was buzzword bingo we’d be saying words like bespoke, experienced and experts but it isn’t – our DJ’s just want to chat with you over a brew and help you find a way to mix your beloved hard techno with Nan’s favourite to make sure your wedding is the absolute best. Your Day When I (“Hi I’m Katie”) met Ashfield House it was love at first sight! In 2009 I took over this sleepy little dated hotel on the brink of closure Our Team but buzzing with potential. UK HIGHLY COMMENDED JUDGE The House Our Team We love eating and drinking, but we don’t love typical off the shelf wedding food and drink! We work hard to be creative and modern, serving food that is well and truly ‘un-weddingy’, nothing worth doing comes easy. People eat with their eyes and our food photo book lets couples choose food based on what it looks like, not just what it’s like to eat – everything else is pretty, why not the food too!

It’s super important to us to make sure our couples have food at their weddings that show the real them. If you want to eat what you had on your first date – you got it. If you want to recreate your favourite restaurant dish – no problemo. If you want to bring in a taste of where you’re from – our pleasure!

Making couples happy gives us warm fuzzy feelings and it doesn’t get any better than sourcing special drinks and food to make a wedding extra-ordinary if you want.

We are getting pretty darn great at doing food that’s a tad less formal than the norm, think grazing tables, sharing boards and picnics. We know what works and what doesn’t and we bring your ideas to life.

Hopefully you lovely readers will have realised by now that we don’t do ordinary and our evening food is no exception. ‘Buffet’ is a swear word round here and we prefer to wander around with food or setup grazing tables for your lucky guests. Food &Food Drink Whitwoo, we have ourselves fifteen charming bedrooms upstairs, more than just a bed for the night, we think staying over at Ashfield House is a bit special. Each one has a personality of it’s own, some sassy ones, some classy ones and some quirky ones but they all come with everything our house guests need for a comfy stay!

Our lucky couples get to move into Room Number One for the night and they are in for a treat because it is ginormous, very beautiful and the bed is an astronomical 7 foot square. Whoa.

Clearly no overnight stay is complete without a big cooked breakfast and copious amounts of freshly ground coffee, we think it’s fabulous to share the stories and laughs from the night before. You’ll be the only guests staying over so it feels like a proper family affair and if you have extras for breakfast just let us know and we’ll arrange it for you.

Our rooms are a mix of doubles and family rooms and they are pretty big so extra beds can be added in to give groups the perfect room setup.

You do not need to book all the rooms and you’ll only pay for the ones you book.
