“Mr. Sharples is in his 3rd year at Woodgrove after 19 years of high school experience previously 8 years at Handley High School. Mr. Sharples career high school achievements as a head coach and assistant coach include: 2004 AA Virginia semifinalist (Handley Boys), 2001 AA State Champions (Broad Run Girls), 1997 Coach of the Year (Martinsville Girls) and 1994 AA Runner-up (Martins- ville Boys). Steve Cohen, the boy’s tennis coach at Woodgrove has tennis in his blood. Steve started playing tennis when he was six. Steve played high school tennis in upstate New York and played number 3 on his college tennis team at SUNY Albany. Steve has been teaching and coaching tennis for many years. Coach Cohen has worked as a Tennis Teaching Professional in Syracuse, NY, as well as in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. He was certified by the USPTA at a P2 level. He has coached tennis at Langley High School, Woodson High School, Loudoun Valley High School, and now works with the boy’s team at Woodgrove. Steve enjoys working with the boys on the tennis team. He encourages the team to have a good experience - win or lose. Coach Cohen enjoys seeing the tennis growth in his young players. An improved serve or backhand makes him proud. COACH

Dr. Fuller, a resident of Western Loudoun and a Dentist in Leesburg, comes to us with 5 years of high school coaching experience in girl’s lacrosse and volleyball at Loudoun Valley and Notre Dame Academy respectively. Dr. Fuller has been involved in youth sports and community organizations in Western Loudoun for the past 18 years. He is a US Lacrosse certified level I and level II coach. Dr. Fuller plans on building a strong program to reflect the high level of support, interest and success that has been prevalent in Western Loudoun since the mid 1990's. Coach Spicer has been coaching softball for over twenty years. His first job was at Jefferson County High School West Virginia. After three years, the team finished as the state runner-up in 1986. He then moved to Loudoun Valley High School, where he coached track for seven years before taking over the softball program in 1995. For the next seventeen years, the program had a number of noted successes, foremost of which was winning state championships in 2003 and 2005. In addition, the program had two state runner-up trophies and several state appearances. In 2010, Coach Spicer was very fortunate to be named the first head coach of the newWoodgrove Wolverine Softball program. Lots of hard work, good players and community support will be needed to establish a championship program at Woodgrove, but it is also a very exciting challenge. Coach Spicer has been a long time girls’ basketball coach both at Loudoun Valley and currently as the Girls’ Freshman Basketball Coach at Woodgrove. Coach Spicer has been married to Louise Snedegar-Spicer for twenty five wonderful years. Louise is a fine coach herself in the areas of distance running and currently heads theWoodgrove Academic Team. They have a wonderful daughter, Sarah, a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School and Lynchburg College. Sarah has already followed in her parents’ footsteps, coaching softball at Heritage High School in Lynchburg, Virginia.
