Executive Summary 2.1 The Edinburgh Local Development Plan was adopted in November 2016. Planning authorities are required to prepare an Action Programme setting out how their Local Development Plan (LDP) will be implemented. 2.2 The Action Programme should be updated at least every two years. A new Action Programme has been prepared to align with financial planning and is now ready to be formally adopted and submitted to Scottish Ministers. 3. Background 3.1 Councils are required to publish an updated Action Programme at least every two years. It is intended that Edinburgh’s Action Programme is reviewed, reported and submitted to Scottish Ministers on an annual basis. To help to align with financial planning and keep track of changing circumstances. The first Edinburgh LDP Action Programme was adopted on 8 December 2016. The second was adopted in January 2018, and the third in January 2019. 4. Main report 4.1 The challenge for the adopted Edinburgh LDP is to help make the city of Edinburgh the best place it can be, for everyone, now and in the future.
