At the conclusion of his senior year in 2008, Brown was selected in the BIANCHI 1 - 27th round of the MLB Draft by St. Louis and spent three years in the organization before injury ended his playing career. Brown undertook coaching stints at Siena, Monmouth and Stony Brook before returning to his alma mater. • Danny Bethea, who was elevated from a volunteer to full-time assistant coach follow- ing Blankmeyer’s departure, hit one of the most memorable home runs in program history in 2012, belting a walk-off roundtripper to take down North Carolina in Chapel Hill and clinch the Red Storm’s spot in the regional final. After the 2013 cam- paign, Bethea was drafted by the Red Sox in the 34th round and spent the next six seasons in the organization, advancing as high as Triple-A Pawtucket.
