    GUWAHATI WOMEN 10K MARATHON An Assam Government Initiative Event designed and conceptualized by DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION, AT BEST! MOVING DEPICTIONS. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. The marathon is a long-distance running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometers (26 miles and 385 yards), usually run as a road race. The event was instituted in commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the BATTLE OF MARATHON TO ATEHENS. The marathon was one of the original modern Olympic sports in 1896, though the distance did not become standardized until 1921. More than 500 marathons are held throughout the world each year, with the vast majority of competitors being recreational athletes as larger marathons can have tens of thousands of participants.     NOTIFICATION 11/09/19 Shortlisted Candidates for Weeklong Workshop on Assessment and Evaluation (September 16-21, 2019) Organized by Teaching Learning Centre Tezpur University TLC, TU acknowledges with thanks the receipt of more than 80 applications for the Weeklong Workshop on Assessment and Evaluation to be held during September 16-21, 2019. Due to capacity constraint, only 47 outstation applicants are shortlisted. The shortlisting is done on the basis of mandate of the Centre to serve the aspirants from North- East India on priority basis. The faculty members from Tezpur University who have applied for this program are requested to send No Objection Certificate (NOC) from competent authority (HoD → Registrar→ PVC) within September 13 2019 to enable them to take part in the Workshop. The scanned copy of NOC can be emailed to [email protected]. The names and affiliations of the shortlisted candidates are attached herewith. The shortlisted candidates are requested to confirm their participation by sending a simple mail to [email protected] within 12 September 2019. Selected candidates are to note the following general guidelines. 1. The candidates are to report at 8:30am on 16/9/19 for Registration. There is no registration fee. The 1st Session will start at 9:30 am sharp. There shall be no inaugural ceremony. 2. Separate free accommodation for male and female candidates shall be provided from the evening of 15/9/19 until the morning of 22/9/19 at Tezpur University Guest House on twin sharing basis. 3. No TA will be provided to participants.
