What a way to make a livin’! ’s 9 to 5: the Musical opens at the Curtis Theatre in Brea on February 8th.

Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot boss, Franklin Hart. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?

9 to 5: the Musical is adapted from the hit 1980 film, which stars Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin. It is the 20th highest grossing comedy film of all time and has been named to the American Film Institute’s list of “100 Funniest Movies.” Dolly Parton’s title song, “9 to 5,” received two Grammy Awards, an Academy Award nomination, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Artists of America. The musical opened on Broadway in 2009 and was nominated for four , including Best Score and a record-breaking 15 Drama Desk Awards. The musical is written by the film’s original screenwriter, Patricia Resnick, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. The original Broadway received a Grammy nomination. Since its Broadway run, 9 to 5: the Musical has toured nationally.

9 to 5: The Musical runs February 8-24, 2019: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
