The Ramon Magsaysay awards - Also considered as Asia’s Version of Nobel Prize cancelled due to the global pandemic, the only third time the annual awards were disrupted in six decades. The Manila based foundation that confers awards said that it has no choice but to cancel the awards this year ‘with the COVID-19 pandemic practically immobilizing the world’. The Magsaysay award celebrates the memory and leadership of the towering personality ‘Ramon Magsasay’ and is given every year to individuals (or) organisations in Asia who manifest the same selfless service and transformative influence.
