The above statue is of Shree Teen Maharaj Chandra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana. This statue was designed by Chandra Shumsher himself and inaugurated by Shree Teen Bhim Shumsher on 29th Fagun 1986 B.S. The brick base of this particular statue has illustrations carved into stones that record Chandra Shumsher’s achievements, some of which are, the establishment of Trichandra College, training of soldiers, building roads and introducing electricity to many parts of the country. According to Purshottam Jung Bahadur Rana, the statue of Chandra Bahadur Rana had to be made twice because the first one got damaged in a ship wreck. However Chandra Shumsher was a clever man and so he had insured his equestrian which paid for the remake of the second one. Æ
