Our special vehicle will pick you up & proceed to Gangtok. Arrival at Gangtok. Check in to the hotel. Get freshen up. Overnight stay at Gangtok. Day 02 Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake and Nathula pass: 07:00am – Breakfast at the hotel 07:30am – Excursion to Tsmogo Lake (12,400 ft, 34km). Lake is 1 km long, oval in shape and 50 ft deep. Here you can find snowfall & Yak Riding. Visit legendary Baba Mandir NathuLa Pass (14,400 ft) Indo-China Border. [NOTE: Nathula Pass depends upon permit availability on the additional cost of Rs.3, 000/- per vehicle including permit fee. The permit is issued on the same day of travel.] 05:00pm: Back to Hotel. Day 03 Gangtok – Pelling [approx 5hrs/117km]: 08:00am – Breakfast at the hotel 08:30am – Proceed to Pelling (7,200 ft, 115 km). 11:00am – Reach Ravangla (6,800 ft), you can get a good view of: Mt. Narshing Buddha Park. 04:00pm – Check In at Hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling. Day 04 Pelling: 08:30am – Breakfast at the hotel 09:00am – Start for full day sightseeing visit: Darap Village Rimbi Water Falls Kanchenjunga falls Khechopari Lake. It is one of the sacred Buddhist lakes and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. The myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird. Post lunch visit: Pemayangtse Monastery Rabdentse Palace Ruins. 04:00pm – Pelling sightseeing ends. Every guest must carry 04 passport size photographs along with their Photo-ID proof (i.e. Driving License, Passport, and Voter-ID Card & School ID Card for children). Pan Card is not valid since it does not carry address. These documents are required to obtain the permit for Changu Lake/Baba Mandir in Gangtok. And the same is applicable to the permit for Lachung in North Sikkim. On arrival in Gangtok (the capital of Sikkim) guest will be dropped at the local stand outside main city where the local taxis will be arranged to transfer guest to their booked hotel. Traffic system in Gangtok is very strict compare to other cities to avoid unnecessary traffic jams on road. Large vehicle (i.e. coach, Sumo) are not allowed to enter city between 8 am to 6 pm therefore local taxis such as Maruti Van are used to tranship the guests to the hotel (only 04 people can accommodate in one van). In Lachung & Pelling tourists will get only basic facilities in hotels and we recommend not to expect any luxury as both are very remote areas. Transportation will not be provided for personal use like shopping, restaurant use etc. Vehicle will be provided as per itinerary for sightseeing and intercity transfers only. Except Luxury Vehicles Nathula Trip & North Sikkim[Lachung/Lachen] Trip will be done in Shared Vehicle if the Group Size is of below 8 Person, also applicable on the packages with Personal Car as no small car runs in these routes. North Sikkim Trip is only can be booked with Food, Lodging and Transportation on Pre-Permission basis on Govt. Consent as only a certain number of vehicles with x 10 no of Passengers are allowed to enter this Region in a day. Paper 2 Why in news? Sikkim has got its first airport– Pakyong Airport which is considered as an engineering marvel. Pakyong airport: Pakyong Airport is a Greenfield airport near Gangtok, the state capital of Sikkim, India. The airport, spread over 400 ha (990 acres), is located at Pakyong village about 35km (21.75 mi) south of Gangtok. It is the first Greenfield airport to be constructed in the Northeastern Region of India. As on date, Sikkim was the only state in India to not have an airport. The new Pakyong Airport in Sikkim is an engineering marvel as it is built at a height of 4,500 feet on inhospitable terrain. This is the first ever airport to be built in the state. Sikkim is yet to get connected by Indian Railways. The Pakyong Airport is about 60 kms away from the Indo China border. It has received aerodrome license from Directorate General of Civil Aviation for commercial operations. It is now the 100th operational airport in the country and is built as a part of the regional connectivity scheme UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik). As a part of this scheme, 25 airports have been added in the past few years. The Indian Air Force has already landed its Dornier 228 aircraft at the new Pakyong airport and will be able to land other types of aircraft as well. The new airport will also prove to be a boon to tourists to Sikkim.

The New Terminal Building at Goa is an integrated terminal building capable of handling both domestic and international operations. The terminal building is equipped with modern state of the art facilities such as 5 Nos. of passenger boarding bridges, CUTE enabled Check in counters, inline compatible baggage handling system, software based building management system, elevators and escalators. The terminal building can handle 2750 peak hour passengers at a time. The Terminal building has been built at a cost of Rs. 345cr. Keeping in view the growth of passenger traffic at Goa airport, Airports Authority of India has already given a go ahead for development of western side finger of the terminal building, at a cost of plus Rs.40cr to further enhance the handling capacity and operational efficiency.
