ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

With the end of Week 2 fast approaching it is important that our students are attending regularly and making the most of their time in class. Although cold and wet, we still need to see students DAN WALKER, in their school uniforms. There are polar fleece jumpers, school 7-12 ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL jackets and beanies all available through Lowes. These can be ordered online or purchased from the store. Thanks to families and students who continue to support the school uniform policy – our students look fantastic in their uniforms. If there are any families who need assistance with purchasing uniform items Year 3 – Camp Kangaroobie please contact me. Well done to all Year 3s, Mr Berry, Ms Ludeman and Mrs Hawkins for surviving the challenges of Camp Kangaroobie. Highlights from Just a reminder about the school mobile phone policy. Year 6 Debating I’m very proud to say that both our teams were victorious in their debates on Tuesday. Credit not only goes to the students: Addie, Ava, William, Daniel, Olive, Matisse, Tahlia and Akisha, but also to Julie Broomhall and Terry O’Connor for all the hours of work they spent on teaching the students how to debate, the structure of a debate and then fine tuning their team’s presentation. Thank you. Thank you must also go to the Elderly Citizens and the Grade 5/6 classes for being great audiences for the teams to practise in front of. Thank you to parents who supported the teams on the day and to Mrs Moriarty for all her organisation. Hooptime I have been speaking with several very excited Year 3 students who are hoping to make their debut in the up-coming Hooptime basketball teams. Mr Venn is busy coordinating the four days, with the school entering two teams of Rookies and All Stars on each day, Year 3/4 and 5/6. Mr Matthews and Miss Holmes will be supporting coaches; with students training hard in their PE and sport sessions. Good luck to everyone and give it your best. Kinder Transition We had a wonderful attendance to our Enrolment Briefing on Tuesday morning, with 30 families taking up the opportunity to fill-in their enrolment forms. I want to remind new families that a tour of the school can be arranged with Sean or me, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
