Prelude

Welcome

Silent Prayer of Preparation

Call to Worship

*Hymn of Adoration Come, We that Love the Lord #588

*Invocation

Confession of Sin Lord, You describe Your church as the Bride of Christ, and Jesus as our Bridegroom, who has gone to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house. He said He would come again, and receive us to Himself, that where He is, we may be also. But Your Word warns us that it is possible for us, Christ’s Bride, to become adulterous, by loving this world, and the things that are in it. You have told us that we cannot consistently love both You and the world; Jesus said we cannot serve God and Mammon. Your Word says if we love the world, the love of the Father is not in us. We confess that we are often drawn to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. We confess that we sometimes rejoice in the comforts and pleasures and enticements of this world, rather than rejoicing in you, the giver of all good things. We confess that our hearts are prone to wander. For such acts of idolatry, we humbly ask you now, by Your mercy, to forgive us, through the redemption that is ours in Christ Jesus, and we beseech You to help us, by the power of your Holy Spirit, to set our affections on things above, not on things of the earth. In Christ’s powerful name we pray. Amen

Assurance of Pardon Luke 18:9-14

*Songs of Praise Forever Chris Tomlin

Give thanks to the Lord Our God and King His love endures forever For He is good, He is above all things His love endures forever Sing praise, sing praise

With a mighty hand, and outstretched arm His love endures forever For the life---that's been reborn His love endures forever Sing praise, sing praise Sing praise, sing praise

Chorus: Forever God is faithful Forever God is strong Forever God is with us Forever, forever

From the rising to the setting sun His love endures forever By the grace of God We will carry on, His love endures forever Sing praise, sing praise Sing praise, sing praise (to chorus)

Take My Life Scott Underwood

Holiness, Holiness is what I long for Holiness is what I need Holiness, Holiness is what You want from me.

Righteousness, Righteousness is what I long for Righteousness is what I need Righteousness, Righteousness is what You want for me.

Chorus: Take my heart and form it Take my mind, transform it Take my will, conform it To Yours, to Yours oh Lord.

Faithfulness, Faithfulness is what I long for Faithfulness is what I need Faithfulness, Faithfulness is what You want for me.

Brokenness, brokenness is what I long for Brokenness is what I need Brokenness, brokenness is what You want for me.

Chorus

In Christ Alone Townend/Getty

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save 'Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand CCLI 578579

The Old Testament prophecies concerning the coming Messiah are like intricate pieces of a beautiful mosaic picturing Jesus as the ultimate Prophet, Priest and King. How does Jesus fulfill these three roles and what significance do each of these three roles have for you today and for eternity? Come discover their meaning starting Sunday, December 3 as Pastor Barry begins an Advent Sermon Series, “Jesus, the promised Prophet, Priest and King.”
