Family Cycle Ride – Sunday 28 June Why not join us on our annual 10-mile circular route around the roads and lanes of Winkfield and Warfield. Registration to join the ride starts from 9.30 – 9.50am at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down Road, Winkfield Row. At the end of the ride certificates will be issued to all, medals awarded to the children and refreshments provided to recharge your batteries for the journey home. We are still looking for volunteers to help with marshalling around the course, please contact the Parish office if you can help.
Vegetable Take & Grow In April residents took the opportunity to come along to our Vegetable Take & Grow to collect some free vegetable and herb seedlings, potatoes and seeds. Children were able to plant sunflower seeds and mustard and cress, and to enter the ‘Feel & Name the Vegetable’ competition. It was lovely to see so many new people in attendance. Gareth Forster
Parish Assembly We were delighted to welcome residents to our annual Parish Assembly, also in April. Helen Barnett of the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership gave an interesting talk on the changes which are taking place in Bracknell town centre before our Councillors’ presentation on the work of the Parish Council.
This year’s Warfield Award was presented to Lesley Johnson in recognition of her service to the community in Warfield including 9 years on Warfield Church of England School PTA and for her commitments to local groups and events including the Warfield Village Fete and the church. The Chairman’s Award 2015 was then presented to the Warfield Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group in recognition of the time and personal commitment made by the resident members of the steering group as they have engaged with local residents and other interested parties across the parish to gain their opinions and for the work completed to date in preparing the Warfield Neighbourhood Plan.
