Having suffered through the writing in the first Buffy omnibus , I can safely say that the writing in the Serenity series is far superior, even if it's not perfect. And Mal and Zoe, because somebody believes that Mal was a terrorist at the end of the war. The story focuses around a band of unlikely friends who keep taking jobs in order to keep their spaceship flying and food on the table. It's hard to tell a complete, good story in just a single issue, but all of the single-issue stories here showed you can when you've got these great characters in this amazing world. One of their highly coveted experiments happens to be repossessed by their brother, and ultimately ends up becoming part of the Serenity crew. Serenity Volume 2: Better Days Reviews The art continues to be true to the actors, except maybe for Jayne, who never quite looks like himself. Disjointed and incoherent storytelling, no character growth and little depth make this series pointless as it adds nothing to the Firefly canon. There is also a very fun introduction by Adam Baldwin. For me, the beauty of a novel is imagining the action in my head as it is described in the writing of a novel. Uh-oh, it looks like your Internet Explorer is out of date. This is Joss Whedon so it gets three stars before I even start, but it's a graphic novel so it probably loses one because I'm really not the target audience for graphic novels. The artwork was ok and would have normally worked well in a typical comic series but when you are portraying real life actors in comic book form you really have to master the likenesses. However, selling the booty could be a very complicated process. I loved being transported back to the "Firefly" show and seeing some of the other stories that may have taken place between the other episodes.
