Brands Hatch Circuit Information Fawkham, Longfield, DA3 8NG Tel: 01474 872331 www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/circuits/brands-hatch.asp

Directions Brands Hatch is situated on the A20 near . Just 3 miles from junction 3 () of the M25, it is linked via the A20 to the M20 and M25/26 motorways.

Paddock Enter circuit by the main gate on A20 - Thistle Hotel entrance. Entry from approx. 6pm on Thursday night (assuming there’s a test day on the Friday). Often the time of admittance is earlier but can vary and is normally determined by whether or not a track day has taken place. Don’t be put off by a queue into the paddock as this is normally for the Inner Paddock/Garages. MZ’s pitch in the Outer Paddock. The upper portion of the Outer Paddock is on a steep slope. Head down into the paddock as far as you can go. The unofficial MZ Ghetto is roughly between the far end of the paddock and back along towards (and on the same side as) Hailwoods Bar. See also map below. You don’t have to pitch near other MZedders but you’ll be less likely to miss Circuit Announcements. There will also be someone close by to show you the ropes and answer any questions.

Electricity & Water Hook up posts are positioned around the perimeter fence; there are a few sockets on each post. If you can’t get near enough you either need to have a long cable, extension or a generator as backup. The power at Brands is generally reliable but if it does fail you might want to have a generator on standby for your tyre warmers. Strictly speaking, you should also have trunking to cover the cable if it trails over a roadway. Not everyone does, some just use gaffer tape or nothing at all but Brands do ask for trunking. The water taps are located on the hook up posts.

Ablutions There are lots of toilets and a few showers at the top of the Outer Paddock. There are also toilets in the Hailwoods Bar & Restaurant but this normally only opens on Saturday and Sunday. There are also toilets just outside the Outer Paddock by the Kentagon Bar.

Food & Drink The Kentagon Bar is just outside the Outer Paddock and serves hot food and sandwiches. It’s open all 3 days until late. The Hailswood Bar and Restaurant is also open during the day on Saturday and Sunday. There are also normally one or two burger vans. MZedders mix and match between bringing their own food and drink and splashing out at the Kentagon.

Camping There are strips of grass around the edge and also at the far end of the Outer Paddock. These areas can sometimes be in high demand so mark your spot as soon as you arrive. Larger sections of grass are beyond the Kentagon Bar which is also where the Marshalls tend to pitch.

Other Accommodation It’s advisable to try to stay on the circuit due to the early starts – plus it’s more fun. If you do need to stay elsewhere the Brands Hatch official circuit website has a list of nearby B&B’s etc. Sharing an awning or leaving a van at the circuit can help to reserve a spot near other MZedders. Speak to other riders on the Forum for advice.

Technical Inspection (Scruitineering) Takes place next to the Paddock Office which is behind the main Toilet block in the Upper Paddock. Normally open from late Friday afternoon, listen out for Circuit Announcements.

Signing On Takes place at the Paddock Office which is behind the main Toilet block in the Outer Paddock.

Noise Testing Takes place in one of the garages in the Inner Paddock. It will all be clearly sign posted. Head up towards the Outer Paddock main gate. Go through the gate on the left hand side (before you get to the main gate), go through the tunnel and noise testing is normally in the garage furthest away.

Collection Area Head up towards the Outer Paddock main gate. Go through the gate on the left hand side (before you get to the main gate), go through the tunnel and to the far end of the garages (by noise testing). It will all be clearly sign posted.

Paddock Services Some motorbike products and services are available to buy in the paddock, including spare tyres and tyre fitting. They can only carry a limited stock of items so it’s always best to carry some spares and don’t be afraid to ask other MZedders. A&R Racing will sometimes be able to order and bring spares and tyres with them if given enough notice. Tel 01749 672890. www.arracing.co.uk
