Month: July Camps & Participation Events - “Providing children a fun & safe environment to participate in

Summer Camps 2016 Cúl Camps are up and running in Wexford and have been a huge success to date. We have had 3,000 children take part in the first three weeks of camps across 23 different venues. It is expected that another 2,000 – 2,500 children will take part over the remaining camps, pushing Cúl Camps numbers in Wexford to an all time high of 5,000 plus. By having such high numbers attending camps it has also allowed us to employ over 120 coaches across the which is a great boost for young coaches in .

Wexford GAA have introduced a new element into Cúl Camps this year to challenge the older participants. We have partnered with Wexford People Newspaper group to run a skills competition at each camp, challenging players to pick up a ball and put it over the bar in a timed run. The players have to use both sides in and both feet in football to encourage bilateral development. The most improved scores in each camp are invited into for a “Super Skills” day in August as a prize. Overall this has been our most successful Cúl Camps ever and lays the foundation for success well into the future for Wexford GAA. Places can be booked for all remaining camps online at: https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie
