The Salford Trail is a new, long distance walk of about 50 public transport miles/80 kilometres and entirely within the boundaries The new way to find direct bus services to where you of the City of Salford. The route is varied, going through want to go is Route Explorer. rural areas and green spaces, with a little road walking walk 6 in between. It uses footpaths, tracks and disused railway lines known as ‘loop lines’. Salford Local Plan Consultation Statement October 2016 Introduction 1.1 This consultation statement has been prepared having regard to the requirements of Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. For each stage of consultation on the Salford Local Plan that has been undertaken to date it details: • which bodies and persons were invited to make representations under Regulation 18; • how those bodies and persons were invited to make such representations; and • a summary of the main issues raised by those representations. 1.2 There have been two key stages of consultation on the local plan to date: • Call for sites consultation (8 February – 12 April 2013) • Suggested sites consultation (10 January – 21 March 2014) Statement of community involvement 2.1 The city council’s statement of community involvement (SCI) was formally adopted on 20 January 2010. The SCI aims to increase public involvement in the planning process. It sets out who will be involved, by what method and at what point in the process of document production or in the determination of planning applications. It gives more certainty to those wishing to get involved in the planning process. 2.2 The SCI sets out the council’s policy for community engagement in the production of formal planning documents. Below is a summary of the SCI guidance in respect of consultation at the different stages of development plan document (DPD) production: Stage 1 This stage includes defining the objectives for the DPD as well as the framework and scope of the sustainability appraisal (SA). Stage 2 This stage includes evidence gathering and identifying the main issues and options for the DPD, and developing the necessary evidence to support the DPD. -
