The Razorbacks fell to 19-6 overall and 8-5 in league play following a 50-42 home setback to LSU Thurs- MSU UA day night that snapped an eight-game win streak.     Connecticut, Notre Dame Both Place 3 Players On 2011- 12 Preseason 'Wade Watch' List ATLANTA (August 23, 2011) - Connecticut and Notre Dame both have three players on the 2011-12 preseason "Wade Watch" list for the State Farm® Wade Trophy the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced today. Now in its 35th year, the State Farm Wade Trophy is named after the late, legendary three-time national champion Delta State University coach, Lily Margaret Wade. The prestigious award, regarded as "The Heisman of Women's Basketball," is presented annually to the NCAA® Division I Player of the Year by the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) and the WBCA. The 25-member preseason list is composed of top NCAA Division I student-athletes from 17 institutions and seven conferences who best embody Wade's spirit. A committee of coaches, administrators and media from across the United States compiled the list using the following criteria: game and season statistics, leadership, character, effect on their team and overall playing ability. Representing Connecticut on the 2011-12 "Wade Watch" list are Stefanie Dolson, Bria Hartley and Tiffany Hayes. Notre Dame is represented by Skylar Diggins, Natalie Novosel and Devereaux Peters.     2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship Municipal Auditorium: March 12, 2011 Final Game Notes: No. 1 Baylor 61, No. 2 Texas A&M 58 Baylor captured its third Big 12 Championship title and the first since defeating Texas A&M 72-63 in 2009. Baylor improved to 3-2 in Big 12 Championship title games. Texas A&M, making its fourth consecutive Big 12 title game appearance, fell to 2-2 in those contests. The 2011 Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team was made up of Danielle Robinson (Oklahoma), Tyra White (Texas A&M), Danielle Adams (Texas A&M) Melissa Jones (Baylor) and the Most Outstanding Player was Baylor’s Brittney Griner. Danielle Robinson, Tyra White and Danielle Adams all made the all-tournament team for the second consecutive year. Griner is the third player in Baylor history to be named Most Outstanding Player at the Big 12 Championship, joining former BU players Jessica Morrow and Sophia Young. Brittney Griner’s 31 points are the most in Big 12 Championship title game history and rank eighth in all-time Big 12 Championship history. Her tournament total of 71 points in the 2011 Big 12 Championship rank eighth among individual Big 12 Championship performances. Baylor overcame a 12-point Texas A&M lead to start the game. It is the largest deficit Baylor has overcome this season. Baylor’s previous largest overcome deficit was 11 points vs. Texas on Jan. 12, when BU came back to win 87-72. The three-point Baylor victory represents the closest winning margin in a Big 12 Championship title game since Iowa State defeated Oklahoma, 68-65, in 2001.

    Administration of Barack Obama, 2011 Remarks Honoring the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Champion Texas A&M University Aggies October 6, 2011 The President. Everybody have a seat. Howdy! Audience members. Howdy! The President. Welcome to the White House. Congratulations to Texas A&M Aggies on your first national championship. Now, winning a national title is a pretty big deal for anybody. And it's an even bigger deal when you think about just how far this team has come. Fifty years ago, Texas A&M didn't have any women, much less a women's basketball team. When they did finally put a team together, the story goes that players had to share uniforms. At one point, they had to use the men's locker room, which probably wasn't perfectly designed for your needs. Coach Blair here would be going door to door just to ask people to watch the games. This is a team that used to be known as a bunch of lovable losers. But Coach Blair wasn't going to settle for that. As he said, he came to College Station to build champions. And that's exactly what he's done. Today, this team has thousands of fans cheering them in every game, including some very proud Members of Congress who are here today. They've defied expectations, they've won close games and played with a whole lot of heart. And now the Aggies are the best team in women's basketball. I think the players would agree that a lot of credit goes to Coach Blair.
